Default 550 canopy arrived

Following nearly selling my 425 and deciding to stretch it to a 550, with great advice (thanks mikej!!) ordered 2 trex 550 canopies which arrived today

I am blown away with the price and the quality...$33 delivered for 2!!

this is my favourite.....

...Yes, they do...very minor trimming on top and some use 600 canopy mounts(Wider)
I use stock canopy mounting...

On my 550, I made my own bottom pin from a std. servo horn(DS821 Servo)
The pin is an old worn out ball link, squished to make it "even" and place a short piece of fuel tubing to "Cushion" the canopy. The distance from where the pin to the mount C/L is
1.5 " I WAS using the 600 upper mount shafts, but have since put the stock ones back on and use those even withe larger 550 canopy or the stock F/G Canopies.
The largest Batt I have is a 3000mAh 6s 30c and has to be mounted under the chin cut out ( no angle piece) My 500 bladed mid boom has the angle piece on the bottom for when I use 2-3s batts...but don't normmaly run the big 550 canopy on it...looks screwy!
