Default Canopy Clips

Hey all,

Don't know if this had been posted before but are the little slots in the undercarriage legs put there by Jan to hold the canopy clips when not in use?

The clips just drop in and fit perfectly so don't fall out easily, discovered this when setting up on grass and looking for somewhere to put the clips so I wouldn't lose them.

Chris.

Ha, ha... Last Friday I had to return to the flying field near midnight with a flashlight to retrieve my clips from the table where I left them.

Iprobably should have referred to them as the canopy "R-Pins".

This pic just made me realise my how rusty my 12.9 Grade bolts are

The struts on my 3DMP have that slot there which is intended for a zap strap to keep the strut from falling out if the screws loosen because the holes in the struts are slotted all the way to the top.I thought my TDR just used the same struts but no slotted mounting holes just holes. There's actually a few little parts carried over to the TDR from the MP.Geoff

Anyone know what clips work other than the OEM ones? I know there must be ones for cars that would fit but the bend is needed for a good fit......

When I order parts from Jan, I usually type into the shop's comment field that I need some canopy clips, too.
He has never charged me for them, so can afford to lose one from time to time in the canopy-clip-sucking-and-hiding-them-forever lawn But Probably won't happen ever again thanks to Nutbag's idea

Kasama ones work, but I like the bend that the ones from Jan has which helps with clipping/unclipping.

These type of clips [Body Clips] are common place in RC car circles. Any good RC car shop will have these.

Coming from the nitro off-road world let me share a little tidbit from my racing days. You can get those clips at any R/C shop that carries Traxxas or any other brand of electric/nitro cars/trucks/buggies/truggies. It's the same clip that holds the lid on them too. Take a small pull-strap and put it through the clip hole. Tighten the strap down on the clip all the way. Cut off the excess length leaving about an inch of strap. NOW, you can see the clips AND you can grab that little strap and pull the clip out easily. Stick it in the hole the OP told us about when we're not using it and we have it all. Can't exactly miss seeing a colored strap on the landing gear now can we? And now, the dancing bananas...
