Dave has free shipping three days a week no matter how much you order.

Really ? What are the days ? I tried a couple times yesterday and still got $8 something for shipping to MA. I was not asking for priority or express shipping, just first class. My order was less than $50.

I got an email on 4-12 that say free usps priority shipping on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. It also said for a "limited time" but didn't give an end date.

Edit: the site was down this last Saturday so he extended free shipping through sunday for just last weekend.

So, the free shipping was only for a "limited" time only. Amainhobbies.com has free shipping without limited time constraint. However, they don't stock Tarot parts. I get Tarot specified parts from either oomodels.com, ac-rc.com or infinity-models.com. Otherwise, I will buy from Amainhobbies.

Actually, if you go to the website and read what it says on the main page...it's right there in big bold letters...

$65.00 min order

I remember reading something about a guy over in the Trex 450 pro forum wanting to do it....I think he wanted to run 350mm blades or something.

Default Help!!! Can you use dual rates with the zyx gyro

I am attempting to set up my Tarot 450 FBL. The movement of the aileron and elevator servos is excessive - 13 degrees. I wanted to lower the movement using dual rates. Dual rate does not activate. I am using a Walkera 2801 Pro Radio and a 2801 Pro receiver.

The dual rates of the radio are working well in my Genius and V120D02S; but I can not get the dual rates to activate in the Tarot.

I could probably lower the travel in the zyx giro; but then, I will reduce the travel of the collective.

Any ideas?

What would be the difference in adjusting it with D/R or changing it in the gyro. Either way you are going to reduce the travel.

I adjust it to the max that I want it with the gyro then use D/R to lower it if needed.

Default DR's not activating

The problem is that I attemp to limit the throw using Dual rates; but they do not have any effect. It does not matter the % I use, it does not seem to have any effect.
It seems the DR does not activate. Is there anything in the radio that activates or deactivate the dual rates?

Default Main gear woobles

Anyone has seen the tarot 450 main gear woobling.

The two disk main gear came assembled in the kit. Is it possible that they were assembled incorrect?

I bought a replacement set and one of the 2 had a wobble. I replaced it with the other one and it tracked straight. I think some of them are just not made right.

Thumbs up Building a Tarot 450 FBL, what an experience!!!

The heli is Flying great ! What a rewarding experience. It was my first build. As you all know, chineese instructions are totally useless. I purchased the combo from Dave ar Tarot-rc heli, It was the last 450 FBL he had about 2 weeks ago, The kit was perfect. The only things missing was the M52 nuts for the servos and the ESC connector to the battery. All parts fit to perfection and now that it is complete the heli seem to be flying to perfection.
I struggled with the wiring since I did not know what wire went where between the ESC, the receiver and the zyx giro. Then I struggled with setting up the gyro. I purchased the USB cable and downloaded the software. At first I had trouble connecting as the FBL software was not connecting to the right port. Then I had to figure out all the functions in the various screens. The software-gyro combinations is powerfull. You can do any adjustment in minutes with the touch of a button, Servo trin, servo reverse, servo gain, different configutrations etc. Once you start using it, it becomes extremelly easy to use. The program is great, I can not understand how the manufacturer can make such a great product and produce such a poor manual.
My last challenge was the tail. It was kicking back and forth. The solution was just reducing the tail gain by about 50%. At fist I tryed to adjust the tail gain; but it did not seem to have any effect; but today it worked as a charm.
I cannot express in words the feeling of accomplishment and exitement of finally watching the heli getting in the air flying solid as a rock and with full confidence in all directions. When I open the box I came close to giving up and really expected to put the bird in the air not before the end of the summer.
I have to thank all of you guys who have described your experiences in this forum as well as those that have taken the time to produce how to videos, Without you my heli would have never been built,

Question Oops....

Called victory too early

First flight in an open field. Flying great at first until I made an error, went inverted and crashed. I was lucky, only broken blades and minor scratches to the canopy.
