Default Commander wont connect to PC via USB link

I purchased the PC link to program the esc but my PC wont recognize it. I downloaded the zip file and installed the drivers successfully and then opened the program and click on auto detect but nothing.

Same goes, post the debug text from the documents folder.

But before you do, try single comport connection where you select not autodetect but the correct port.

Do note, connect power to esc after selecting port

Mine would never work with autodetect...I had to go into device manager and shut down the modem that was attached to COM3 so the port was free. Nothing will change on the screen until you put power to the esc.

edit...also I have to plug in my usb before I open the program otherwise the COM port that I am plugged into wont show up in the pull down box in program. Its kind of backward from any other device.

I also dont understand why you have to pay extra for the usb adapter and it doesnt even have all the programming parameters as the IR controller that comes with the esc?

you need a free port to use the USB, so maybe your PC port is all used up, reason that you need to free up the modem port.

USB link can program all options just like the IR module system, and plus it can be used for firmware upgrade in the future.

Maybe when you change to another mode like airplane or internal gov it opens or removes some parameters depending on which mode you choose. I dont have my computer in front of me but I know for internal gov there wasnt as many options available on that screen as the instructions showed for IR programming...for instance in internal gov mode you cant adjust MAT or COP in the software.

Yes, the PC program will "detect" which mode and highlight/disable some functions if they are not used in that mode.
