GAUI 50A ESC !
Z-power Z30 - 1100KV 16T piniong and GAUI HP gears (With the OK on them) - 100 flights and still not broken! A123 - 7S - "Hurricane special edition" 2300mah MS Composite 515 carbon blades Headspeed : 2450 (measured) The power is amazing with this setup... The only downside with A123 is the short flight-times, however there are many many advantages with A123... Itīs wonderful to be able to empty the packs without worrying about puffed packs. Video - http://media.putfile.com/Hurricane-5...A123-powerpack (Sorry for the quality) Last edited by prollegbg; 08-06-2007 at 03:10 AM.. |

Finally I've got the balls to try some moves, just about 20th flight on my Hurri
and I love it, way better control then my Ark x400, I should have bought a 550 size heli way sooner. Well enough said, Hurri with stock motor and 50A esc, 500 carbon Gaui blades and stock tailblades, Ultralight paddles and 2100rpm Here are my tries in learning 3D: Here on Youtube and here on Putfile (imho a little better quality) If any comment or tips, please feel free...

Well about the LG, thats to make it stand without LiPos on LG so the heli wont fall back on its tailfin But to be honest, havent tried them in a normal position, just grew into it, because on my micro's like the Ark x400 and the WK #36, they will fall back without lipos and thats when i turned the LGs around and that worked.

Finless, I'm thinking about the Hurricane 550 as a second heli that can better stand up to breezes (better than my Mini Titan). I live about 3.5 miles from the ocean, so there's usually a breeze. I'm a beginner-intermediate (I think), so I'm trying to give myself the best chance at learning, given our typical conditions.
I've read some of you commentary about tail issues, but I gather I'd not have to worry much about that because I don't fly aggressively. I really only want to learn scale flying with some "scale" tricks - barrel rolls and loops - not all the other 3D stuff. I do want to learn to hover inverted - just for skill sake. Do you think the Hurricane would hold-up well for me? It's the only affordable larger model I can find. Everything else is more expensive and requires the super expensive batteries, etc. Thanks for your help. Sometime, I'd like to join you at that park you fly at. You invited me to join you long ago when I joined HeliFreak. I sure appreciate your site. Rc_HeliPilot |
