Hello (again) Been a while....

Hi gang,
Been a long time since i've been on the site.
Live in south NJ (cape may), amateur flyer. I started with a coax blade heli, then got the mSR, and been a while since I've flown, bought some new batteries, and they were all doa from the store, went to return them walked out with a new heli.. the Blade SR. First cp heli for me, and being rusty, it probably wasn't a good idea to try flying, but you live and learn right!... so long story short im back off to the hobby store later today for a new tail boom! lol...

any tips for a rusty N00B!

As someone said below, a simulator is a very good idea.
Alternatively and in addition to, I find the site www.rchelicopterfun.com to have very good lessons plans and instructions on getting started with RC helicopters.

I could use a sim that will run on my Ubuntu laptop with the default IBM graphics.

I did have one a few years ago, it was the real flight one. But it was the old joystick connection when USB hit the scene, i never bought a new version to go with it.
