I dunno..?
If you feel you need to knock back a couple of drinks so you "perform better"... Jus' sayin'...

But, it IS appropriate to have a few in ya when talking to women in bars/clubs.

I don't think it has anything to do with performing better. We all have, to some degree,
the "Fear". If that fear gets in the way of flying the heli well, then it is a problem.
Alcohol in small doses can have a calming effect. And also lower inhibitions, as we all
have discovered. If having a beer before takeoff helps you fly then I say bottoms up!
Hopefully as you progress with this hobby, a libation will no longer be needed. Please
no flames I am not advocating FWI.

I am a member of the American Bar Association. But not the one you're thinking of.

yea commercial beer (BMC) does. Been home brewin for bout 20 years and and only drink commercial beer when I have to. A homebrew at lunch eases the arthritis in my hands, doesn't make me stupid and allows me to fly any afternoon that the weather allows

Hmmm? maybe we need a poll. Seems like more than just a few of us are OK with
a drink while flying. We will have to keep this under our hats or suffer the wrath of
the heli safety cops. Any more opinions?

At the other end, drinking a bunch of beer after flying is my favourite! Especially if you crashed and have a pile of parts on the floor you need to reassemble into a helicopter.

Now for another can of cat piss I should be on my way

That Poll has been done.

Better put your flame suits on if you're going to post a poll like that. Advocates for drinking before or while flying are definitely in the minority here.

Fixed.

Don''t confuse PBR, Bud, or any of that crap with good beer. That's like comparing Spam to Veil

As it should be regarding that last part. Very reminiscent of the types around here who claim to shoot more precise groups (i.e. blast away at junkyard stuff out in the desert) because a drink or three "steadies their nerves".
