Compass 7HV DIY Gyro Tray MOD

Ok here are the step by step on how to do this simple mod

First you put Down the first CF stocl Gyro Tray...And then u screw in the four 3m x 20mm long Set screw

Now you will Put the Four Spacers off your liking on These red ones are 20mm long and can be got and Amainhobbies.com

Know you put each one on with some Blue Loctite...

Now Take the Second Stock 7hv Gyro Tray that you bought and put it on top of the 4 red spacers

Now take the Four Stock Counter sunk Screws and put them on to hold the top gyro Tray on..

How just put your electronics on to your liking here are two options of the vbar mounting

hope this help out anyone wanting to do this simple mod...all parts can be bought at Amainhobbies.com spacers come in a few colors heres some green ones

Now i just gotta figure out if i like the Sensor on top or bottom they should make this mod part of the kit as a option to use ...

Yeah Man, looking great. Like it was meant to be.

It's only needed if you choose the full size Vbar though. If you have a miniV or BeastX its not really required.

Looks good, going to keep mine as is for now but if I end up doing a rebuild may go this route.

Dang. That's a great mod, and easy to implement.

I may try that with my 7HV to deal with the Skookum power-bus. I'm still not happy with the powerbus on back side of that frame. This might be a good solution.

I like yours Anti Taco! Looks pro. I still vote for sensor on bottom. You want to access the connections for on-going tuning - at least for the mini-USB

Actually Mounting the main unit box where all the Servos plug into doesn't matter if its on top or bottom cause the USB port will be facing backwards so its always easy to just plug in and do some fine tuning.....Im just worried about any kind of damage happening to what ever gets mounted on top....I had issues on my 6HV were in crashed the dam main sensor getting ripped right off the heli and damaging it ....and Heathy just had a crash with his 7hv and the dam skookum got ripped off and that sucker is well protected i would think (Pic Below) so its a hard decision.... maybe i gotta make a Third Gyro spot to put another layer of protection LOL.....

yeah im putting mine on top also i feel its the best spot plus it looks cool there and nice and clean...as u can see in the photos i posted last i already mounted the vbar control box on the bottom and plugged in the 3 cyclic servos already and wired them nicely....

I'm still not happy with the powerbus on back side of that frame.
