Really depends on the lens, it may have been close or 30ft away.. Folks that don't fly have a much lower comfort level to flying lawn mowers.

Even though she has spoken up and said it was 15-20 feet away,I still think it was too close to a bystander.

You all can say she was a spotter if you want but the fact that she was filming says otherwise.
The job of a spotter is to watch everything EXCEPT the heli to ensure safe clear skies.

Reckless and stupid in my opinion.

Sorry

I dont think you get it. 15 feet equates to five steps. If your friend screwed up (further) or there were a failure of some sorts, you would have no way of evading serious injury or worse. There was a thread on here not long ago about a guy that got hit with a 600, my G*d did you read what it did to him? Very foolish.

Doesn't look like he intended to get that close, so yes in this case I agree but have you seen some of the pros fly... tell them hurricans at 100+mph 10 or so feet infront of you is reckless and stupid.

But I agree, if you have someone next to you it would be ok to scare them with a wall of death or something a little bit but not to close.

You just don't get it do you?

The pros can fly as close to themselves as they want and so can you.
They CANNOT fly that close to BYSTANDERS.

The guy in this video is NOT a pro either and looked out of control.

Uh, yes I do get it... I said "Doesn't look like he intended to get that close, so yes in this case I agree". I went on to say you shouldn't fly close to yourself with someone standing next to you. Come on man do you just disagree to disagree.

As long as you agree that getting close to bystanders is wrong,we agree.

Nothing to debate here. Just an opinion.

I do disagree with intentionally scaring someone with a wall of death or something though.

Well I trust lazor's flying skills to try an scare me flying,
If you have control of the heli there is no issue there.
Also that's why you check over the heli before flight so it don't explode in your face!
jus sayin

I don't but I don't have to.lol...

Things break. Pros crash.

Stay away from bystanders that don't want you getting close to them.
If a person thinks you are too close...you are.Period.
Respect the people around you and don't put bystanders in a position that a 20 cent part failure could kill them.

It's just my opinion. It is a very common opinion.
Nothing to debate about that.

When a bystander says "That's TOO close" ....it is.

It's really hard to judge by watching a video but she did say it was too close so +1 on what Ernie said.
After about having my hand broke by my 450PRO,this is about as close as i'll get and im useing this as a example because it look's like im 3-4 feet away until my buddy zooms out.

Here's my 450PRO .Yup,I made a mistake and paid for it.One day when your doing something close and ya think it's cool, your luck might run out that day ..I hit TH and lost quite a bit of headspeed but if she was still running 100% throttle,I might not be flying right now..That in your face stuff is cool until it's in your face ..

Even as skilled as he is this was not ideal....one of the more obscure vids of Tareq.

The local guys backed away understanderbly...things could have gone bad quickly due to the proximity.

Regarding this thread...hard to judge as there is little reference point/s but their was concern so that kinda says they weren't that comfortable regardless of the actual proximity their space was encroached apon by their perspective (they are entitled to both their space and perspective so yep..probably too close)

He is definitely a great pilot but then he did end this video with a crash. You get to feeling froggy and this is what happens. Still...who is this Tareq guy? Is he the rich son of an Arab oil baron that he can afford to crash expensive heli's left and right? He definitely flies like he stole it! Awesomely impressive flying but...very likely expensive as hell to be able to fly like that.

Surely you are being sarcastic. You don't know who Tareq is???? If RC heli were a religion, you would say your prayers to him.

I would dare say that this hobby does the opposite to his bank account as it does to mine.

IIRC.....in another Forum it was mentioned that Tareq DOES have a "stake horse"....ie., someone (sponsor??) supplies him with the equipment - AND maintains it!!! He "simply" flies it....!
Not "poo-poo"-ing Tareq.....he's among an elite few who can fly that well....But, IMHO, knowing if you crash, someone ELSE'S $$$$ goes to fix it.....takes away the needed "pucker factor" that the vast majority of us have, that HELPS keep us from wrecking our "birds" quite as often...
OK...So Tareq RARELY crashes.....the few times I've seen vids where he HAS, though...he doesn't appear TOO distraught.......
Right now...my mCPx keeps me plenty busy....learning!!

Tareq has a sponsor as well as millions and millions of dollars.lol...
His nephew is the president of UAE so he is kind of royalty also.

His pets live in a separate mansion of their own.

As for crashing....He says he takes five helis out to practice and regularly crashes four or five.

He is a hero of mine despite the money.
Not very many millionaires get any respect from me but he is a super nice guy with mad skills.
