Default Aluminum Blade grips problem

Ordered a set of aluminum blade grips along with some 80degree dampers after a crash bent my feathering shaft on my 4503d, Get everything back together and noticed while installing factory wood blades that they do not fit! The black plastic (spacer) on the wood blades will not allow enough clearance on the aluminum blade grips. Is it safe to remove the black plastic spacer? or sanding it is also a possibility.

Thanks for the input, Markus

+1, same problem. The carbon fibre blades still need shims too - so whats up?

Do not take that plastic out. It would weaken the blades.

The alu grips are designed for smaller blade thickness like the carbon blades or the EXI FG blades

Would never think of taking the plastic on the blades out.

Problem is... the alloy grips are very tight on the wooodies & still require shims for CF, so they have changed the spacing with no real benefit except.

Well i went ahead and ordered a set of align 325D blades. They are signifigantly lighter then the stock woodies for the blade 450 and im sure they wont have a problem fitting into the grips. I'll let everyone know how they fly. anyone have any input about the align 325D carbon blades? I got mine from Amainhobbies for about 19$. which is way cheaper then the carbon ones from Blade at 33$
