As I drive by the Miramar club I can see that the freeway traffic will get an awesome view of the night fly they probably will think the military's working on a new flying secret saucer program.

I'll be there for sure! New to the sport only been flying since oct 2011 can't wait to show how fast you can learn if you put "stick time" in and fly everyday!

Yeah, but I don't know if it'll fly. I just haven't had the time to get to the field to get it dialed in after the rebuild. Hell, I haven't flown anything since October of last year 'cuz I've been working so much. I don't know if I remember how.
At this point I'm hoping I can get the 6HV in the air by then... ![]()

Kevin,
I understand. Unfortunately, life gets in the way (of model helicopters) sometimes.

Just bring the turbine Kevin. We'll all work on it together. I'm sure having 10 of us hover around and provide input would be more than enough of a relaxing environment conducive to getting something as simple as a turbine helicopter into the air.
Seriously though.....I'd love to see it and hear a brief explanation of all that's involved. Maybe even hear it run? |

Just finished the 3 year old's birthday party this morning. Now it's time to focus on getting helicopters airborne for the funfly.
Bring that turbine down to SD. Corey and I will get it in the air for you. (haha....more comedy for you...) |

Harley's jokes..
Know what the difference between a turbine powered aircraft and the pilot is? The aircraft stops whining when you shut it down. Know how to tell who flies a turbine powered rc aircraft when you're at a large party? He will tell you.

I'm not letting you Chollas guys anywhere near my helicopter - especially Corey. Do you know what that guy does for a living?????
![]() It's just about ready to fire up and do some trimming hovers, but I still need to burn a few tanks to get the pitch/throttle curves dialed in and tweak the Vbar. Maybe I can do some of that on Friday before the event - it's really all going to depend on work between now and then.

Seriously Kevin. I'd love to see any of that tuning stuff at Miramar if you haven't gotten it done. I'll be a bouncer. Anybody makes a "peep" while you're concentrating and I'll throw the bum out. (can I do that as a guest myself?)
No pressure. It'll be cool even if you just bring it. I'm not much fancier than Corey's job. He deals with pipes that carry poop. I deal with pipes that carry stormwater runoff. O well....it pays the bills. |

None of it has anything to do with the engine.. It's all basic pitch/throttle curve stuff - same as getting the HS settled down with a nitro... Time is my biggest enemy these days....
