Will this Scorpion Motor be OK

I'm converting my 500EFL to FBL with a beastx/ar7200 combo (AR7200Bx).

I just happen to have a new in its can a Scorpion HK3026 1200Kv motor which I had for another project, but it didnt proceed.

I have nothing against the original motor that came with the heli, but figured Scorpion being better would be a nice up-grade. I will also be using the standard Align ESC (70amp), and will probably stick with the 12 tooth pinion.

My question, is this compatible with the Trex 500 or are the Kv's a bit low, I think the original Align motor is like 1600kv's. But then again I have a 910Kv in my 550 sized Gaui X5 and it seems insanely fast head speed.

i think 1400kv to 1600kv is best suited

For it to work your either going to need to run a 8s setup or a much larger pinion. At 6s your looking at a max of 2000 headspeed, this will NOT work. A 16t pinion will get you close to 2800 which is kinda were you wanna be if you want a fun heli

Thanks guys, as I figured, a bit slow at those Kv's. I think I'll stick with the original motor.

I think I might have a 15 tooth pinion so that may be worth a try if my existing motor calls it quits.

The guide lines for 500 helli are for425 blades with 1600-1700 kv would be Basic 1900-2200 rpm, Mild aerbatics 2200-2600, Agressive 3D2600-2800 and sometimes much higher. The 15 t will give you Mild for sure.
