Yea sucks to see them go but the way he handled it was not cool. He shut down the FB page and just went away. I could not even find a here's the deal post. Not cool IMO. And just think I kinda felt for the guy after he was on RCHN.

Appears that way.......
The publisher posted in another Forum that he MIGHT be able to make amends to subscribers -- i.e., arranging for a substitute mag......but, AFAIK, no one's heard any more on this.....
When I bought that copy you show (Oct/Nov 2011)...in FEBRUARY.....I figured something was amiss.....Then I read the post....
Yep..... too bad....But I can understand how this can happen in today's economy....

We are not at a total loss. There are still good mags out there. Go to any Barnes and Noble and you can pick up either Radio Control Heli Pilot or the European Mag. Model Helicopter World. I must say although expensive, Helicopter World is realy good.

Default Bummer.

RCHeli was my favorite mag. Plenty of info for a noob like myself (at the time). I'll assume that times are tough and have claimed another victim. I used to pick them up from my local hobby shop but it's been rough for me as well and I took a two year break from the hobby myself.

If it got any worse I'd join the squirrels.

Default Magazine?

Magazines and print books are going the way of the dinosaur. It is too costly to edit, print and distribute.
An e book cost 1/4 what a print book cost to get out.

Same thing happend to the music industry. The only difference there is
the greedy record execs finally got the boot. No more middleman.

Shame this.

I live in the UK and have the two mentioned UK magazines but I also liked my copy of RCHeli.

Didn't subscribe though - I used to order from one on the US vendors when I placed orders for spare parts.

Nah!

I don't believe that will never happen. You are assuming everybody on the planet will have an iPad.

I can berely afford bloody helicopters.

Much easier to take a mag to the crapper...!

Go for http://www.modelheliworld.com/issue.aspx?i=4460

A top read IMO.

Ive been looking and looking for the current RC Heli and couldnt find it. I did a quick google and found this thread... Bummer!

Although I wasnt partial to one mag over the other, I did LOVE the back of RC Heli where the would feature a scale mechanism and compare it to full scale and they also would highlight a full scale heli...

Anyhow maybe now subscriptions to Heli Pilot will increase and they will become a monthly mag..

Ill probably check out a issue of Rotor World next time I am at the LHS.

No sense in stewing over this - call your credit card company and explain that you paid for a subscription that was never delivered. If you bought the digital version of the magazine at Zinio (like I did), contact them and ask for a refund. You should be able to get your money back.

If you paid by check then you might be on your own. This is one reason why I rarely pay for anything with a check nowadays.

(I also highly doubt they'll show up at IRCHA with RCHeliMag polo shirts on.)

Does anyone think it's possible the magazine could get bought up by an investor or another company? I always thought rc heli mag was by far the best, shame they went broke.

Wow, I didn't realize that. I stopped getting it because A) it made me spend more money on heli's, and B) I was cutting my budget all over. I thought it was a good magazine except for the spelling and grammatical mistakes. I expect in here in a forum, but not a magazine.

If you bought the digital version of the magazine at Zinio be careful. I just got an email from Zinio asking me to renew my subscription. Kinda shady if you ask me.
