Check out the thread on RR. The guys putting this together tend to spend more time over there.

http://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t688004p1/

Since I've met these guys and joined the club they've all been a tremendous help. I've learned a lot from everyone I've met, especially Darrick aka. dchekas.
You'll find everyone from sponsored pros to novices attending this event and each one willing to help out anyone who shows up. You won't be dissappointed.

No size restrictions that I'm aware of. I'm bringing my MCPX and both 600's. Basically fly what you brung.

In fact today is heli Wednesday. Take a ride to the field and you'll get to meet some of the people involved.

Thanks for the info.
Wednesdays eh? Hmmm... I wish Farmington was a bit closer. Not bad for a day trip but hard to justify when cash is low and there is a monster field right next door - Family doesn't mind because I can take them to do other things or I can just pop over for a few flights at any time. Food for thought none the less

Unfortunately, I have some bad news in regards to the power.

Looks like we aren't going to have it in time for the event

Sorry guys.

In lieu of this, I'm going to see if I can get some Generators if you don't have one, and needed to use power.

I apologize again guys, we've been navigating some red tape, and it looks like we'll be getting the power the week after the funfly.

Exciting news!

c

Thank you all for attending our Funfly!

I believe our final registered pilot count was 43. Very good for our first Funfly!

I'd like to thank Eric Ehrenfels for CD'ing the event. He put in lots of time to make this event happen, and it couldn't have been done without him.

Big shout out to RC Hobbies and More for donating the OS 91HZ-R for our big raffle, and to Heli Direct for donating the Pulse Battery, shirts, and hat.

I'd also like to thank our fellow club member, Dom Pecot, for donating the Castle 120 ICE2 HV and the Align 3GX. You rock my friend!

We will see you all next year!

Pictures to follow....

43 is great for a first event! Kudos. I wish I could have been there, but things came up the night before. Next year for sure!

I really had a great time at this - thanks for hosting it. It was my first heli event, and the first time I've seen anything bigger than a 600. Wow! I got up my courage and flew my 450 Sport, which until today I was thinking of as "big". Looked like a gnat compared to the others. Thinking $eriou$ly about a 500 now. I got some good tips from folks re: FBL units, 500s, and batteries and chargers. Actually, I was surprisingly encouraged from the whole experience. As a 49YO pilot with a little over a year of experience, I felt proud representing the mentally challenged contingent. But I got to see some peers flying and realized I feel pretty good about my current skills. Fast inverted backwards circuits, pirouetting circuits, and inverted funnels aren't too far away, and I can see piro flips in the not-too-distant future. I just wish more pilots lived near me in western MA (Amherst)! All-in-all, really awesome event. Any others in New England coming up?

The next most local funfly to MA is probably going to be Phenom in September.

That's in Mansfield, MA. It's the "big" New England event.

If you're willing to drive, there's also Rotorbash in PA this weekend, Heli's Over Delaware, and NE Helicopter Jamboree in Rochester

Heck yea, Rochester and phenom are the two "no way I'm missing that one" events for me.
Besides IRCHA... of course.
Going to be a busy and fun next 6 weeks or so
