DON'T DO IT.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blade-mcpx-A...item3a713aef1d Bought two of these. Very weak, will only hold the tail for hovering, that's about it. Anything else and you get bad blow-out. I sent the seller an email to tell him that they don't work in MCPX, waiting to see what he says. Don't waste cash like I did. So does anyone know a *GOOD* tail motor to replace the stock one?! I hate that you have to spend $15 and buy the boom and rotor too. There's gotta be a suitable replacement out there somewhere. |

Unfortunately I would have to agree. I got one of these AEO replacement motors and installed it earlier this week. Only about 6 flights so far, but yes it definitely seems very weak compared to stock.
Dylwad, thanks a lot for the link to that motor. I thought it was impossible to buy just the replacement stock motor (i.e. without boom). |

Dylwad - thanks for that.. I ordered two of them to try.
I actually bought one of these from LHS (for $10!) to try because I remember reading that they were the same.. I ended up breaking it just trying to get the pinion off.. So I never even got to try it. I didn't try crushing it, I tried pulling it.. Which of course pulled the shaft out too. DOH! |

Glad you posted, I was wondering if somehow I just had done a bad solder job or something. It sure looked like a good item. It's a major feat to do a 360 deg flip with this motor. It blows out some just doing a little pitch pump. It is worse than the failing stock motor I was replacing!

I got some of those AEO motors a while back for my mSR tail motors. They're about the same as the stock mSR motors, so would be way below par for the mCPX.... The CCW mCX2 motors are definitely the best I've found so far....

Wish I'd read this before I bought three of them................
. 12 bucks down the drain and my bl msrx is still grounded. Since I have one good boom/motor, at least I can swap between the two.Wired up one to my bl msrx today, thing flew like a gremlin was in it. Tried it on the mcpx, same thing. Since I have one good boom/motor, at least I can swap between the two. I doubt the shop I bought it from would take them back. Oh well, got enough msr motors now till I'm old and gray.
