Best alternate bolts for tail blade grips

It's a known fact that the tail blade bolts are too short - they don't engage the nylon part of the locknut...

I got myself three different types of bolts, and these are a perfect fit both lengthwise and diameter-wise:

They even have a shoulder which seems to be made to measure for the TDR grips and spacers, and the Radix blades.

Much better that having the bolt threads making contact with the blades I'd think...

Interesting...I have three kits and none of them have tail bolts that are too short. So how many kits have this problem?

Same problem here. I replaced them with bolts I found in my R50 parts box.

My bolts are short too...
But I used a cutting disk on the dremmel and made the bolt thinner till the screw sits further into the thread...all good to go !

Got my kit nov 2011 and mine are too short. I just used some threadlock.

I got mine in February and I reversed the nuts and screwed straight into the nylock.

My first kit arrived with the short bolts, second one is fine. You will need galvanized 3mm hexagon 12.9 shank bolts and the correct length is 20mm. my first kit (2009) had bolts of 18mm supplied. If you can't get them galvanized a normal 12.9 steel bolt will do, they just tend to rust a bit.

that's no good if it doesn't have enough thread, replace them if too short.

Mark, none of those have shoulders...

If you want the best for your TDR, then you have to go with the ones I mentioned...

I have those also... Not as good as the ones I eventually used and mentioned in my first post... I didn't use them.

In this example, I belive the 18-8 stands for the quality/ "blend" of stainless steel. Not tensile strength...
