Default trex 250 dampers in x2 head

Is anyone else using the trex 250 dampers in their x2?

I'm using the green trueblood dampers and they seem to fit ok with only the metal spacers between the blade grips and the dampers but they make the head extremely rigid and I'm not sure if the this is going to cause any problems later on down the track.

Thanks. I tried the Microheli/Tarot 250 FBL dampers but they were too loose. This sounds just what I'm looking for.

Having the head fairly rigid but still supported in rubber is perfect, especially for FBL and if you want to do any 3d.

Red face canopy dampeners?????

I measured the diameter of the feathering shaft for the gaui x2 and i get 3mm. It seems the t-rex 250 is a little smaller in diameter 2.5mm i do believe!

But i could be wrong!

There has got to be something out there that would be alot better dampeners then the ones that gaui sells!

I have searched alot trying to find such a product.

It seems some of the gaui 255 owners suggested using the canopy dampeners as dampeners for the head! Part number is #203311

Trying to find some posts backing this info is another story!

I might be willing to give it a try and i can report back my findings!

If anyone has used the canopy dampeners with success im sure we would all like to hear some feedback??

Where they better then the stock dampeners? Are they stiffer and do they last longer?

I know for a fact that if they work great it sure is a very cheap fix for many of us gaui X2 owners facing this problem!

Cheers Keith

I just fitted some stock Align 250SE dampers (H25038A) with just the thin washer (both mine were metal). It feels really good. I'll test fly it tomorrow and let you know what it's like.

Has anybody tried these? I'm assuming they are harder than stock.

I read somewhere that someone said they couldn't notice any difference, after fitting them to an X2.

I just got back from flying my X2 with the 250SE dampers (H25038A) and single washer. Even though the 250 has a 2.5mm shaft and the X2 a 3mm shaft they work perfectly. Just what I was looking for.

Make sure you grease the spindle shaft before inserting it and your good to go.

Thanks again, discl. I never would have thought of trying this if you hadn't posted.

Ive put about 10 packs through them now and the only thing ive noticed is I get faily big (the whole heli shakes fairly violently on the ground) vibrations when spooling down the motor but one of my mainshaft bearings is on the way out and it could have something to do with that.

I thought true bloods were available for the old gaui 200.

But just for reference I use the gaui 90 hard ness dampners on my x2 . They handle the high head speed I run now 4300 or close not tached hs.

I never had a issue with them wearing out or compressing, the head feels rigid this way but the grips rotate smooth and bind free. I used synthetic grease in the pocket of the oring before I insert the orings

The stock 250SE dampers are brilliant. I flew it quite a bit yesterday and it's far more responsive than it was. No shakes at all, but I'm using the Tarot ZYX FBL unit. My heli has the Scorpion 3600kv with a 15T and my throttle curve is 100 95 100.

The stock 250SE dampers are probably a bit softer than the true blood ones. These ones are perfect, if you ask me.

I have not touched my FES head on my X2 yet. So am I correct in saying they do not come with dampers installed from the factory? I have some trueblood dampers for GAUI 200 I purchased from mike before he decided to stop making them.

My X2 flys fine the way it is, but maybe I will notice an improvement in performance after installing them. I'm not sure if I should put them in or not. I dont even know if there are dampers installed in there from the factory already. I dont want to take my head apart if I dont have to, but I want the best performing X2 possible. Hmmmm...
What to do, what to do... I am torn here.

To dampen or not to dampen? That is the question... I'm thinking its time to dampen...
There are a few options for dampers it looks like.
I think I might go with BLADE 300X dampers, but they are not available yet. They should be available very soon though...

There are two o-rings in each side. I like the way mine flies now with the Trex 250 dampers.

Your X2 has to have dampeners in the head. You'd have a heck of a time getting it off the ground without them in there.

I currently run Gaui H90 dampeners in my head. It tightened up the head quite a bit over the original dampeners that were in there. I bought my bird used, so I'm not sure what the original owner had used. I believe they were stock, but I can't say I'm 100% sure on that. But, I can say the bird is way more responsive with the new dampeners in it.

I just had a flying session this morning at the local park by my house.

Man oh man, does the X2 frickin rip dude! I was shocked at how quick she gets when you really push on the cyclic. The X2 literally turns on a dime. Its so ridiculous how responsive tnis little bird is. It literally appears to defy all the laws of physics. I thought for sure I was going to crash into a tree when I let her travel too far in but as soon as I caught the tree in my peripheral view I was able to turn into the opposite direction in a micro-second. I also did my first back flips and aileron rolls on the X2 in idle up.
She did beautifully. I am so happy I am an X2 owner.

I did not feel the need to add more dampening. The factory dampening in the FES head seems just fine.

I've been using the T250 dampners for a while now and they are just so perfect. they've tighten my head jperfectly and don't seem to use up as much as the stock ones that were loosening pretty quick..
