Default Cobra AH1-Z Viper (modified Align Cobra 500 size)

Hi Guys,

Almost finished this Cobra Viper after months "On Hold"...now things are better and with time to work in my projects.

This is originally an Cobra 500 size by Align, with Align Pro V2 mechanics, Align four blades head.

The modifications are in the tail rotor, need to build a scale four blades tail rotor using 500's part ( blades and blade holder).

In the fuselage the tail boom airfoils and tail skid are really, really scale.
In the upper rotor cowling I used balsa to make more realistic, lot of work but nice result.

And the one Iliked more to make...the working gun and sensors pod in the nose, with full movements.

In the video can see all of this and much more...enjoy !

It is very nice! I thought it was a real one at first, until I saw the blue missiles. You should do something with the blue missiles and it would be perfect!!!

Are you using an FBL controller with the multirotor head? Just curious if it is absolutely necessary.

The blue "missiles" (rockets) are real. Our Apaches shoot blue rockets all day long for training. Blue just means there is no explosive inside.

Just got to the end of the vid. Bravo on CMWS eyes all over the fuse. and the " Service only with MIL spec..." labels really makes this an outstanding replica

ahhh...

i think the key to these military replicas is the imperfections from wear and tear that makes it soo real.

Woow...really thanks for your comments and the info about the rockets, some info is difficult to us to know...thanks for that !.

About the CMWS eyes...that was since the start of this project a nice touch to do, nice to make to !.

The adesives was fun to, using Corel Draw and my inkjet printer, at first I think in a more clear color, but this make difficult to see, I opted for better visibility.

Excellent, like the decals and weathered look in the details.

Hi guys...thanks to all for the kind comments !.

This was an unexpected project, at first was only my intention to make the four blades tail rotor to match with the four blades Align head.

But I realized that I never seen one scale Cobra Viper...so sad...this is an awesome helicopter !.

Now...I learned a lot about tiny details, and how to change the look of the fuselage if needed...will use all of this in my future scales

...a few photos of the building steps...

In the rotor cowling I used balsa wood...a bit of work to shape...but nice result, this is really close to the real heli in details.

Beautiful job my friend. It takes a lot of skill to transform a very generic fuselage and turn it into a piece of art. Your weathering effects are well executed and sets
your Cobra apart from the rest, very well done
