what is the factory set lengths for the all the push rods on the HB CP3?

![]() this is driving me nutz I m trying really hard to get the pitch setting right for this heli. here are my steps: collective stick half way, all servo arms are center, and the three push rods lengths are set to get the swash plate lever . now there are 2 rods from the swashplate to the mixing arm and another 2 from the mixing arm to the blades. I locked the flybar in place and if I try to adjust the rods from the swashplate to the mixer arms to get pitch 0 at low stich and +7 at high stick according to the manual. I just dont seem to get this right. asa I change the lenght it get wild readings i.e -6 to +5 or -2 to +10. it just doesnt make sense at all. My idle up switch is in the normal flight settings. at this stage I have no interest in 3d flying, I just want to get the collective pitch from 0-7. please any help or I will end up flying the heli to the trash bin ![]() |

Got King-3 but assuming the CP3 is like most,
program TX for linear Throttle and Pitch curves, and Swash Mix at about 50% for Elevator, Aileron, and Pitch if its a programable radio. All trims and subtrims to zero, and Enpoints set to 100% Servos level at mid-stick adjust servo to swash links so there is about equal swash movement Hi-stick to Low-stick. You want the headblock to go up almost to touch the bottom of the rotor, and the bottom of the swash to stop about 10mm or so up from frame at Lowstick. Once thats done and swash is level....move up to the rotor and adjust those links so the washout arms and flybar are level at midstick, and youre at 0deg pitch at midstick for both blades. From there its just a matter of tweaking things. Your goal is; Keep all links same length as it partner Keep all washout arms and swashplate level. Achieve equal pitch at Hi stick and Lowstick on both blades. Its not difficult once you have done it a few times, but its a real mindbender for someone not familiar with it. Finless has a couple videos called CCPM SETUP...Part 1 and 2 or something like that and they can be found in the Tech forum here at HF. You might be the only guy with a CP3 and might explain the slow response. Good luck. |

Thanks folks for all the help, now its behaving much better,
my links from teh swashplate to the mixer arms turned to be about 37mm to get my pitch range normal flight 0-9 normal mode -10 to 10 idel-up is engaged. |

If you have +10 and -10 set in Idle-up mode, you should be good to go as far as the mechanical setup.
In your Normal Mode there should be at few degrees of negative pitch at Low Stick. Once you get it flying outside a little wind can catch it and float it into a crash before you can get it on under control. If you have some neg pitch available, you can at least get it back on the ground in a breeze. With zero pitch at Lowstick there is no way to decend if a gust catches it Lots of guys will set their Normal pitch curve so its around +10 at High Stick, and -3 at Low Stick. This might also help to reduce damage for the times when you panic and set it down quickly. Hopefully, dropping the Throttle to Lowstick at -3 pitch will do less crash damage than if its at -10 pitch when it hits the ground |
