On friday night I had a nice trip to the ER. I had been doing my setup on the heli after my last crash. Been playing with it getting my blade tracking just right. Had already made 4-5 adjustments already. Spool it up take note which blade was to high and adjust it. Putting TH on every time, doing everything right. Well the last time I had the blades tracking good, so I flip on TH, and reach in to grab the heli. Then whack, the first thought that went thru my head was, Did I just do that? And here's your sign dumba**!!!!
Well off to the ER I went. Needless to say 10 stitches and the last bone in my ring finger is broke in 5 spots, and where the blade went thru my finger and bone. There's 2 piece's of bone floating off to the side. I know I will NEVER do that again!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU GET SICK LOOKING AT BLOOD DON'T LOOK AT THE PIC'S

I had just flipped on TH, so I would say almost full blast. I bent the spindle, flybar, and mainshaft. The blades hit my finger, and the heli jumped over about 2 ft and landed on its skids. All the damage done to the heli was from my fingers. Plus it ripped off my middle finger nail, and that hurts like a mother F'er

In my experience if my blades are set to match using a pitch gauge (with motor unplugged!) the tracking is spot on. Sorry to hear of your injury, shitty way to learn but very effective if nothing else.

Ouch!!! Sorry to see that happened. Good news is you still have alll of your digits left! Hopefully no nerve damage.
About 6 years ago, I had a air powered hight speed cut tool wheel (that looked like a mini circular saw blade) come apart while cutting aluminum tube to make some automotive a/c lines and one of the wheel halves went 3/4 of the way through my left pointer finger and bone! It took about a year before I had full use of my finger. Although the inside of my finger is completely numb, I'm lucky I didn't lose it.

That really sucks dude, I'm sorry. I hope I never do something like that. My wife is very supportive, but if I ended up in the ER she would certainly say more.

I went to get an ortho's dr appointment today, to see if they can do anything with it. They said they maybe able to squeeze me in by Thursday or Friday?
On the one that was talking about his wife. Mine had said that day no heli stuff. Well she went to the store. Then I had to call her and tell her I was heading to the ER. Trust me I got an ear full. She's supportive of my hobby. She even buys me some parts here an there.

Man - sorry to hear about your "oh $hit" moment! I wish you a full recovery.
I wear safety glasses rather than sunglasses when I fly...it may not save my eye(s) in an "oh $hit moment", but then again it might. Best of luck to you

Hey Jason, might be good for you to repost your OP in the safety sticky so it doesn't fall from view. Consolidating mishaps like this is probably good for the community. Again, I wish you a quick and complete recovery.
