Rob43,

Glad to hear that El Brute/The Brute, is a Brute!

This is looking better and better the more I read about it!

I am quite happy with my Hacker A50 as it has plenty of grunt and is a smooth motor to begin with, no complaints whatsoever. But after such a long wait and tons of speculation I have to try the brute one day Well, perhaps when I finally make up my mind on the second 7HV kit....

Stolla - way cooler than "Scorpion hot". I will will flog it the next time out and shoot it for you, though. Yesterday, 'it felt warmer than 700MX, but not by much. I would estimate 40C. The head on the motor sure looks like a cooling fan!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

"Now that I have all that power, it will take me some time to grow the pair needed to use it! "

Remember the old adage:

"Power Corrupts. Absolute Power is Absolutely Cool!"
(did I get that right?)

When I called Mike at Nankin he said in a week or so they should be getting more in and will be up for sale. As far as specific details I'm not sure.

Just to put credits right. I said the new motor would be a brute and rob started calling it el brute hehe.

Advantages over the scorpion is temp and smoothness. It govs really nice.

David the production motor is even better then the prototype with thinner winding. Smoother and a little more grunt

Rob I'm glad you enjoy the motor and I love the fact I can use the words "I told you so" yet another time in these forums - other time was ah Clem's 7hv aquirement hehe.

There is obviously more torque produced at the lower throttle values. I can see my tail fighting the torque as I perform various moves. I will set up a bankswitch on my gyro channel when I get a chance.

Klaus - maybe you can shed light here...the new Compass 7HV manual references "Compass 115 mm" tail blades in the tail setup section. I have not seen these.

Oh sorry. I don't know squat about K so I had no idea if you set it like others. I ended up using 8khz and low timing.

Here are my thoughts on the new one. First off I noticed the paint had a few gouges in my can. No biggie for me. I then went on to install my pinion and couldn't get it on. Put it on a mic and found the very tip out of round. Almost mushroomed like I was dropped. Hit it with a jewelers file and some polish and it slid on no problem.

I got in a few flight this morning before it started raining. Rob and everyone else was spot on in that it really shines at low head speed. Even with the CC governor it held well at low rpm. I didn't really get in much at higher head speeds. Hopefully I can get a few more flights in later today and get more data on it.

I'm thinking it's true nauseating power!

I used 12Khz and 18.75. Motor was just barely warm but the HW ESC was warmer than with a Hacker (not hot just warmer). I might try lowering the timing to 15 to keep the temps lower. Power was good but I still need to do a lot of tuning of the V-bar including pitch, governor gain and everything else. But you can feel the power at lower head speed is there, no bogging, nothing, just goes to work as intended. I can imagine how monstrous it will be at 2100-2200rpm but I am afraid to try it with the HW. Considering a YGE now but need to find some cash money for that. Damn things are freaking expensive!! How can they get away with charging so much for it...

Well, tonight I went out during the warm evening sun for some quiet time to my self and a 15t pinion. I cannot say it was nauseating power. I probably need the TP65C packs to see it happen. Finally, after all the flights on the 30C Gens Ace 5300's - say 70 or so each, they have now come down warm. Maybe 100F (40C). The heat sink on the Jive was also warm, about the same temp. The 4926 was maybe 120F (~50C). Evening was about 80F (~27F). I was running 2200 rpm at the head and 13.5 pitch. Must need much more head speed for nausea (although I know a sudden stoppage due to contact with terra firma will also do it). The 4926 is a great motor for me and my flying, but I seriously doubt it's in the same league as the 4530's. My next experiment will be a 13t pinion to optimize low headspeed flight. The whack headspeeds just aren't doing it for me. It just makes a lot more noise, and heat. My current thinking is first a Spyder 12S4000 30C pack for a real weight loss of 300g. Stage two will be Radix V2 710 and 110 tails. If my Super Cobra sells, my next project will be...?? I can't say it here...

Does anyone have a link for detail specs for this motor??
I am seriously considering one but would like to see the full spec.
Seems to be doing well on several helis but spending this much on a motor it would be better to have some numbers. Logs anyone??

unfortunately logs won't do any good if not same heli same pilot same conditions with 2 direct comparisons between this and 4525 le. so we have to go by spec, yy 1.4mm same as 45, since its bigger stator should have more power IF magnets are similar strength, also does it have cooling holes like xera or quantum taking up copper filling space?, too many variables. What will help is if we can have inside view of the stator and measurements of mags, then we can make a crystal ball prediction, but it will still be only that. to log data on a heli with gov active, headroom, pwm values, different gear ratios etc says nothing. best you can do is take same heli same pwm value same headspeed flat out level flight max pitch same conditions, then compare amp draw and decay in headspeed, so not as simple as it seems. Better to just bolt it to a bench and measure thrust with prop

logs are good not as "laboratory" comparison but you get an idea of what a system does.
Anyhow, if I get a 4926 I'll post data and description of other setup/flight parameters on the 7HV.
