I have heard great things about the alum blocks. I have not been able to get my main shaft in without resistance yet

Yap! All 3 minis I have done with the cnc blocks have been exactly the same. Smooth as silk. That is why I posted them as a must have!

Gee whiz.. I ordered batteries from Hobbypartz.com last Thursday, and they are finally shipping today.. They must be really busy as usually my stuff ships either the same or the next day.

I'm pretty much done building.. Just need batteries, they should be here by end of the week since they were shipped USPS Priority mail. If all goes well I'll be maidening her this weekend.

I spooled it up on the bench last nite. No vibrations from the tail that I could tell. Felt really really smooth. Looks like rain today, so probably no maiden yet.

Did get the CG pretty close. Battery is slid as far back as it will go and used the shorter tail rod so I could mount the tail servo further back on the boom. Might have to add a very tiny bit of weight to the tail to get perfect CG.

Was checking out the Blue Lipo 6s 30c 1300 mah batteries. They were decently balanced with no bad cells. Not sure how long they will hold up and how much punch they will have as the Internal Resistance per cell was about 15IR. On the gens ace batteries that I usually get it is usually at the most 4 or 5 internal resistance per cell when new. Blue lipos are definitely questionable.

Took here for a quick test hover this morning. Everything went well, no crashes or mechanic errors this time. After work, I'm going to take it for a proper maiden flight.. She's Alive!!!

Maiden Complete!! Flew two batteries through it. It flies pretty darn good other than a couple minor teething issues which are to be expected on a new build.

Tail was wagging a quite a bit at first, adjusted the gyro gain at the field and got it better, but was still there. Figuring it could be caused by something mechanical, so last nite I checked out my tail and sized my ball links on the tail linkage and got the tail mechanics alot more smooth. My kit didn't come with a ball link sizer, so I took one of the extra balls and scored it with a razor and used that to size my balls. Worked pretty good

Didn't seem to have that punch that I have on my Protos 500. I'm going to play around with my settings to see if I can give it some pop, but I really think that my batteries may be suspect there, since they had a very high internal resistance when I first got them. Also when charging them, they take a really long time to balance.

Here is a pic of my home made ball link sizer.

An IR of 15mOhm is reasonable for a 1300mah cell. Remember IR is a function of cell size so if those were 4000mah cells the IR would be around 5 (it is linear). But the 30C bit is crap though (like most LiPos, i would really like to see how long a 65C TP lasted if loaded to 65C constant).

Didn't realize that IR depends on size of the cell. thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

here is a more in depth article:
