70mm with 4mm roots. The root thickness is important because the T-Rex 500 blades are 70mm with 5mm roots. The new Extreme Edition 72mm ones work really well; I got to fly them for the first time this past weekend.

alright so i got the kit and the servos and esc and kbdd tail blades(lhs was out of the dampeners) so im going to start tearing into it this weekend. i noticed it says to degrease threads and lube the feathering shaft and and thrust bearings. my question is what type of grease/lube should i use? ive got a tube of silicone grease that i used in the transmissions of my rc cars. is this ok ??

also should i just ground the boom and frame from the get go it sounds like alot of people are havving isseus with this causing problems with their flybarless units?

also what about blade tracking and balancing, i was told that the compass blades are pretty well balanced from the factory. and how do you adjust the tracking cuz it looks to me like the arms from the swash to the grips is not adjustable and thats how im used to adjusting tracking.

Thanks again for all the help you guys are great (and alot nicer than the rc car guys hehe!!)

I didn't ground my Atom 500 boom because I've never had a static problem with it, but I do on my 6HV.

I did not ground my G-10 framed Atom, but would ground the CF framed version.

Default another build question??

Ok guys need some more help. I went through the head and greased the bearings and locktited all screws and then i went to install it onto the main shaft and i noticed there are 2 mounting positions. so my question is which one do i use? i currently put it in the higher hole ie. head is lower but there doesnt seem to be enough room between the top bearing block and the swash to get full neggitive pitch for inverted. this is also where the manual looks to have it. should i move to the lower hole (head higher on frame)? any thoughts or what you are doing will help.thanks again!!

Almost all of us use the lower hole and, even then, many of us had to remove 2mm or so from the length of the Delrin rod and from the ball link shank.

As this is my first helicopter build (all my others were pre built) i have never sized a ball link. i picked up the jr universal ball link sizing tool and by the looks of it you just pop it on and twist until its to your standards. i have no clue how loose to make them though. any suggestions??

if i hold the links sideways should they drop freely or is this to loose??

ive searched the forums and the web and everyone says they need to be sized but i cant find anything on how tight they need to be.

thanks for the help

If they drop and have no space, IMHO they are perfect.
