I second the idea of getting a better charger that does a storage charge.

I'd also get an monitor/alarm to plug in the balance connector to let you know when a cell gets too low while flying. Avoiding a cell to go below 3.5V, I think is pretty critical.

Lately if I have a cell that's going bad on a battery, I keep a battery monitor (non-alarm) hooked up to it till it goes totally dead. I leave the monitor on it, cut the main leads off and solder them together. Then they are practically safe to throw in the trash.

I end up reusing the leads for another battery or what not.
