hey folks. i recently got a swift 2. im new to planes, just recently moved over from helis for a bit of a change and a little less expense!
i have the wing set up with a hk ss 25/30 esc (cos i had one spare) 2x hxt900's an orange rx and just took delivery of a longmax 3s lipo. my problem is i dont know if the motor i also bought is right (after trying to fit it,im not sure it is ) this is the motor i just took delivery of: :http://www.giantcod.co.uk/advanced_s...cker+&x=4&y=15 it would not fit in the mount so i had to enlarge the hole on the mount by about a mm,but having done that i have realised the screw holes do not line up either so im a bit stuck really! i have no idea what to do next. if some kind soul could advise me if i can get this motor to do what i need it to do that would be a massive help. if this motor is no good (i hope it is,im flat broke now!) then if someone could provide a link to a motor in the uk that would be a direct fit to the mount that would be great, the cheaper the better. im not sure about the kv size i need,i went for a 1300 (as above) as it was pretty much in the middle of the recommended motor size on the site i got the wing from. i want the power there if i want it,but i want something that will also help teach me to fly. i have an axn but i can not get through a battery without it hitting the deck yet so im still pretty much at the bottom of the learning curve with planks! thanks very much,i hope someone can help. oh,i also have a couple of props...a spare from the axn, cant remember the size,a 8x4E TGS Sport Propeller and also a Emax 9X6 Electric Slow Fly Propeller if that helps at all! cheers |

This is Helifreak, not a lot of action in the plank forums. There are other, better places to go for info.

Hey mr, just a friendly piece of advise, for future use. I have found I can get more answers/responses to my questions if I keep them short. More than a short paragraph, and folks are likely to skip to next thread. Hope this helps. Oh, and sometimes it can take a few days for folks to respond.
Sorry, I have no experience with Swift, so can't help there. As for mounting holes not lining up. You might can make the holes in the motor mount a little larger, so the screws will have a shot at the holes in your firewall/plane. Make sure to use a large enough washer under the screw head. |
