Thanks for all the info. Glad to know. I agree, for $20 more, why not go with the 80amp? I'm happy with my Protos unstretched, but who knows, might decide to stretch it later, and won't have to worry about the Esc.

Where can you get the 80a for $20 more than a 60a? Readi Heli lists the 60a for $ 110 & the 80a for $160.

HeliDirect has the 60 for like $119, and the 80 for $144. So $25.
You gotta learn to shop around Tx. ;-)

Google was SUPPOSED to be my friend but in this case, I guess NOT! I haven't had to shop around for much for the past year because I purchased a lot of used heli parts previously from RR. When shopping for new items, I'll admit I'm not on par with the current wave of sites. Thanx so much for the feedback and I'll do better in my searches. Happy flying!

Yeah I try to catch stuff on here and RR for quite a bit cheaper. But you also have to watch it. My last order I was going thru HeliDirect, because the were cheaper than Readyheli, then went to check out, and shipping was a little pricey. Do even though the parts cost more at Readyheli, with their cheaper shipping, it came out cheaper than HeliDirect. I watch things like that. Lol

Amen brother! I try to watch out for every penny because it's a tough economy these days. I prefer new but some of the deals are simply to practical and most of the sellers are class acts! I can't wait to get my Protos in the air though. I have a Kontronik Jazz 80a but was looking to get another Kontronik so I can move the 80a to my Swift. I'm going to keep my eyes open for any deals on a used YGE 60a and if nothing pops up in the next week, I'll bite the bullet and get a new one. New Kontroniks are simply out of my price range at this time and I'm ready to fly NOW!

I see your iPhone is 4S. What's the headspeed on that thing? (horrible attempt at humor... lol) I have an old CC80 on my Swift for now but as soon as I get a YGE 60a for my Protos, I'll move the Jazz 80 to the Swift. Does one have to use a separate BEC when using a YGE controller?

Lol yeah, work on your stand up. Lol. I don't think you need a separate BEC, but for sure. So if anyone can answer that for sure would be great.

No, the stock one can handle the protos just fine.

Thanx much for the clarification. I know what my next purchase is going to be.
