Has any one tried to drop a parachute from you heli? I tried it and it did not go so well. If you have done it, how did you do it? And do you have a video to post?
Heres mine. A guy showed up (you can see him off to the right) and started flying a plane right in front of us. So I stayed low and close for a while.

Hi
I have not tried anything like this, but, I wonder if the chute is not opening because it stayed in the downdraft of the heli. If so, drop it while moving forward. With luck that will work. Enjoy

When I checked it out afterwards I found the chute was kind of static clinging to itself. So I opened it up and got a little air into it and tried again. The second time the chute got stuck in the box that it was stuffed into, so I guess I fluffed it up a little too much. The poor little guy was hanging off the bottom of my heli by the strings. He had a nice little ride though.
Some one told me I should use powder on the chute to make it open easily and not cling to itself. More attempts to come.. Oh, and of course much higher. That was just a test run. I did not want it to fly a block away on the first drop.

If the chute isn't opening you will have to check how it is packed or there may not be enough weight for the size of the chute.
The military has an entire MOS for packing chutes. Its not as simple as balling it all up. Not sure how you are packing it. Sounds like a really fun project though! Watched the video again. Looks like you might have had a streamer. Check to see that the static lines aren't twisting around each other. If they are the chute won't open. The military sure does have it's own MOS, I knew a couple of those riggers back in the day. That and I pack my own parachute for skydiving most the time. Get paid to pack others as well, if I feel like it. That stopped pretty much after gaining some ratings Haven't seen the video yet since my inet takes forever from where I am at currently.

LOL - When I read the title, I thought you were going to go inverted and they deploy the chute and parachute your T700 to the ground...

If it does not have one, fabricate a small pilot chute that deploys due to a spring device.
The static line pulls a retainer pin that holds the spring closed. The pilot chute pulls the main chute out into the slipstream to deploy. To retain the spring, attach it to the line that runs between the pilot and main chute.

Wow.. Nothing that fancy. I just cut the lid off of a servo box, glued it to a servo horn. Then glued the servo to the inside of the box. So when I actuate the servo, it slides the lid on and off. Then stick anything I want inside. I just happened to load it with a parachute guy that came (5) for a dollar at the dollar store. So cheap and easy. Thus the bad result. But I will improve it.

I would look at the model rocket stuff. They probably have directions on how to fold a parachute. Those guys form the dollar store probably have been folded up like that for months as they rode a slow boat form China.
PS, I have heard they make RC skydivers! That would be cool.

Very cool. I knew there had to be other people that did this.
Got any close pictures or details of how you did this? I see you are in GR. My parents live there (actually Wyoming), so I get over that way every so often.

A suggestion for the parachute, cut a small hole in the center, just 1 or 2 cm, that should stop the swinging and allow a straighter, cleaner looking drop.
have fun
