The reason we haven't addressed the tail "wag" issue is that it didn't seem like wag but more of an authority issue. If wag is the issue, definitely get that under control. A slight kick on hard punch's are OK, wag is not good at all.

I thought the poster meant some kind of phasing in the tail....and never heard of that.
But main rotor phasing makes sense.

going to say sounds like phasing
if you can hover inverted do a back flip to inverted note if the tail has moved then finish the back flip back to up right if the tail is back in line with you your issue is one of phasing

When I had this issue with my Trex 500, though not as dramatic as the OP, I ended up solving it by going FBL.

We are getting a little off topic, but if you do have a phasing problem, how do you solve it. This is really related to the tilt of the swash. So is it a servo mixing problem that causes this?

It just means don't give hard stick inputs which can slow your headspeed or overwhelm the tail.

Important on the Mcpx becasue of it's weak tail

phasing is an issue with the how the swash is aligned to the rotor disk normally 90dec works fine but some helis the T-rex 500 is one of them need it more or less
ie more then 90 or less then 90
the easiest way to deal with it is covert to fbl or get head with adjustable phasing

Ok thanks Elios, I think I get it. I will be using a 4 blade head with a FBL unit. I hear there are isssues with "phasing" with this. I will ask more about it in the scale forum when I'm ready for a flight test. Thanks again.

4 blade head SHOULD be 90dec as well it only gets funny with 3 and 5 or more
see if your FBL has an option for adjusting the phasing of the head

LOL..I'm pretty sure thats the first thing I asked him about

lol, yeah sorry, it was just that the advice turned into a phasing and control issue, when it should have been established if it was a gyro gain issue first.

the thing is both the T-rex 450 and 500 have know phasing issues
the 450 less so but the 500 has major ones only fixed by going fbl using a multi blade can also make any issues already there worse
