I just fitted a set of Rotor Tech 115mm tail feathers today. Excellent blades. Flew great. If it wasn't as windy, and I had more time, I'd have tested the hurricane to funnel move to see if it held at low headspeed. Next time.
I just heard from JamesPPP that his kit came with Compass 115's...Uh?

I run Edge 115s on mine and they work at 1700 and below and up to 2000+. Tail really holds well. I like them a lot.

Tried them beyond 2000 headspeed? Mine need to have the gain reduced at the higher speeds, but are superb so far.

Yeah, JamesPPP reported the same thing. I thought also he said they were plastic...?

That could just be the old blades as mine from the first batch was a bit bigger than the KBDD 104's.
I was going to get 115's for mine but I didn't know if the tail could handle it. |

Fair question, BakedMopar. I am running the RJX grips, so I didn't think it would be an issue in my case. JamesPPP said the blades in his kit are plastic 115mm blades.

So they are indeed larger than the original tails, I guess.
I only needed bigger tails for running low headspeeds from my experience. The Rail 106's work fine if I am spinning >1900 rpm.

Care to post some pics Lincoln? I would love to see the evolution of this heli.
Rob I'm using the stock tail so you see why I have my doubts. |

I'm not really familiar with the 7HV kits before mine so can't say what I've noticed that has changed but I posted some pics in the pics and videos thread. One thing though is mine came with a nice sturdy black and white blade holder (don't like the older flimsy yellow)

Black & white blade holder? Really. Plus, the yellow shows everything too. Even makes my butt look big when I carry the heli.

Rob, I put the scale on the yellow blades that came in my kit, which should be from the latest batch, and they are not 115's. I think about 112mm or a little more from the center of the bolt hole to the tip. When measured that way the line is on a bit of a diagonal from the leading or trailing edges so probably they are called 110's
