Keep an eye on those EPbuddy EC3's, I ended up swapping mine out for XT-60's, the EC3's became far too easy to unplug after a while, you could flick the connector and they would fly apart. Performance increased after the swap too.

I had EC3's on my RX pack on the 7HV as well, and swapped them for Multiplex 6 pin connectors.

Went to set up electronics this after noon and ran into some problems. first off the program card; i plugged everything in per the instructions and the card liit up as described. at this point i decided to read through all the instructions first so i disconnected, read through the instructions and connected everything back up and now nothing....no lights or tones from the card just one solid light on the esc.

figuring the card is now bad I decided to stick program the esc through the transmitter (dx6I). So I reconnected motor/esc to the AR7200BX I bound the bx no problem and servos were active, I bumped the throttle stick and the motor chattered and began to smoke, I immediately disconnected power. Looked everything over, the frame is scorched at one of the motor mount bolts and at the top by the battery tray F@%&!!!! Figgured the polarity was wrong on the motor I switched two of the wires and tried again seems to work fine now Why the F&*@% don't they color code the wires on the esc and motor?. I tried the program card again and nothing. The YGE instructions are horrible and it looks like i only get default settings. I wanted to run in gov mode so I guess i need to order a new program card . This is extremely frustrating as i now have a 1K paper weight.

They don'T color code them as polarity doesn't matter. It's a 3 phase motor. Any wire combination will not smoke the motor. You have something else wrong here.

It definitely has nothing to with the 3 wires on the motor and they do not need to be labelled, I like this simple explanation from mr mel:

Make sure you are not shorting the motor by having the bolts too far into the motor...

That's a good video! I did learn a few things from it. My theory of why the motor smoked is because I obviously had the motor direction reversed, but the motor couldn't turn because of the one-way bearing so it got hot and smoked. After switching the two wires the motor spins in the right direction but I'm concerned about residual damage to the motor or esc. my prog card is burned up too so I can't prog the esc, I'm sure changes need to be made. I.e. throttle calibration, 6s motor setup?

I'm also gonna check the seggestion about the motor mounting bolts shorting the motor. I did notice a lot of heat in the mount.

I think this is the burned spot on my prog card, can anyone confirm?
