Default v450d01: No tail rotor control.

I few weeks ago I was on my third battery. I checked the tail rotor and cyclic like I normally do prior to spooling up and I noticed that I had not tail rotor control.

When I squeezed the connections to the receiver checking for anything loose, the tail servo moved. I was then able to control my trail rotor. At other times when this happens all I have to do is touch the receiver and it starts working again.

Subsequently, It has happen more frequently. This morning it happened again. I touch the receiver and the tail rotor servo moves and it's ok, but this time when the heli shook a little on the ground, prior to taking off, I lost control of the tail rotor.

Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions? I hope it's not the receiver.

Thanks

Eric

I can't say for sure but I do have a few Walkera receivers on the shelf with similar failures. The main and/or secondary circuit boards fail. Sometimes after a crash or sometimes they are just poorly assembled from the jump.

You may want to replace it. A tail failure in flight could mess up your day!

Thank you Mike.

I suspected the receiver as well. The other day i thought about plugging the tail servo into the aileron or elevator just to isolate the problem.

I also thought about taking the receiver from my 500 and trying it on the 450. However, the 500 is doing so well that I don't want to mess with it.

Looks like a new receiver is in the future for me, but it's going to have to wait since I recently ordered a scx-10 and Toyota body and scale parts.

Thank again.
