Here's the 3rd party steel pinion if you don't want to wait.

I've heard that before and rest assured your pinion is being eaten up. There has to be backlash when you move main gear via main blades and it will only increase the more flights you throw on it. And that's with wd 40 or none.

my first pinion lasted 34 flight before it was completely worn out!
![]() i have pinions but it's not right to have to replace that in every 35 flight or so... lets hope that they make planty of those steel pinions and that they last. i dont understand this problem at all, testpilots have tested this heli hundreds of hard flights before it has published and still this kind of faults. not a big deal and they make alternative parts fast but still...

You see how hard they fly. My guess is they test for stress and high rpms.
I don't think they logged enough flights before they needed to be rekitted long before a pinion could wear out

Guys, the original pinion that Tareq and I flew and tested was made of a slightly different aluminum alloy. The first batch of Goblin helicopters that was released had this "good aluminum", then for some unknown reason, our vendor changed the compound without letting us know
Hope this clarifies the doubts. Bert

I was told last week in June, allow a few more days of course as it has to be routed through the proper distribution channels.

Team pilots will log an insane number of flights before any kit goes public.

Unfortunatly this seems to be happening more and more. A company does all the necessary R & D to develop as close to a bullet proof product as they can. Then the designed parts go out to mass manufacturing. Then after a while one of the mass manufacturing facilities decides to change material or design without the original engineering companies approval for reasons unknown. And the end user assumes it is a design flaw on the product companies end.
Thank you for the honest post Bert.

Thank you for the "official" feedback Bert!
I just had a quick question, what proceedure should be used for seating/breaking in a new steel pinion with a new main gear? Same as before, (WD-40) or ...? Thanks , Wiz ![]() |

It is spreading everywhere
No break-in required with steel pinion, no grease or oil needed either Bert
