Default Tarot ZYX on Hurricane 200 V2

I am converting my venerable Hurricane 200 V2 to FBL. But after having bought a Mini Vbar for my Beam E4 Advance and seriously looking at the BeastX for my X2 build, I am looking to save some $$$s on the conversion. The Tarot ZYX unit has a very attractive price but does anyone use it on the 200? Your comments are appreciated.

I had a beastx on my 200 for a while but pulled it out and installed it on my X5. And instead put a copterx cx-3x1000 in the 200. So far I'm very happy with it. The cx-3x1000 is even cheaper than the tarot unit and from reading, they seem to be very similar.

I am using the Tarot ZYX with my 200 and it works very well. The software adapted by JohnNZ is the easiest FBL sofware I have come across. I did change the old standard analogue servos for digital JR ones at the same time.

If you haven't already bought your FBL head you might want to consider the X2 head as it is bigger and stronger and parts are more current. It does increase the rotor diameter a little and you need 1mm spacer in the grips, but mine is working great this way.

Hi Spencer. Thanks for the tip. Sadly, I have already purchased the V2 FBL head. However, I am quite intrigued about the ZYX software you mentioned above. Can you provide me more information, a link perhaps?

Hi Mark,

You can get the software from www.fbl.net.nz

It is the Tarot sofware but has been modified to work with a range of other FBL units. I think a lot of people find this works better than the Tarot version.

gyro total gain: yaw 100, roll 25, pitch 25 (27% rudder gain on my DX7)
I left PID at default(80,80,30) and agility at default also(i think 45).

Using the hyperion ds09scd on cyclics, ds09gmd on the tail and use CF main blades.

Spencer,
Thanks again for the link to FBL.net.nz. While I am still a ways away from completing the install, johnnz's site is top notch. There is no way I could have gotten off square one withoutit. I really appreciate the help!

I tryed freatman set up and its working good.
But my pitch angle was wrong so coundt try any 3d action.
I'll try a couple maneuver next time.
Thanks again freatman...

Glad it worked out for you.. you should try and up the cyclic and rudder gains until you start to get oscillation etc... though.
