I maidened my X50E today for a 5 minute flight of FFF really covering the sky with one loop. I was being pretty conservative considering this was a new setup and my first experience with a FBL heli. I'm using the Spektrum Microbeast unit. All I can say is WOW.
This heli really flies nice. In FFF, it tracked absolutely straight. Tip it forward and it gets up some speed really quick. So far, I'm happy with this heli.
My other helils are a Beam, Mini-Titan, Raptor E550, Avant Aurora E90. So, after this maiden of the X50E, it's a keeper. Oh the list keeps growing.

Welcome Charlie. Glad to hear you are liking this heli too. She does pick-up speed fast eh.

The only think that will make me part with this X50E for now is if get a 700 .

Default Electronics Setup

I use a Spektrum DX7S transmitter (DMX)

Spektrum AR7200BX 7CH DSMX Flybarless Control System w/BeastX .

Castle Creations Phoenix ICE2 HV 80 .

Scorpion HK-4025-630 Brushless Motor (630KV) with (6mm Shaft) .

1 x HYPERION ATLAS DH 20X GCD FULLY PROGRAMMABLE HIGH VOLTAGE DIGITAL SERVO (tail).

3 x HYPERION ATLAS DH 20 FTD FULLY PROGRAMMABLE HIGH VOLTAGE DIGITAL SERVO (cyclic).

1 Thunder Power 2250 mah 45c lipo to power the electronics.

2 Turnigy 6s 3600mah 30-40c discharge lipos in series for a 12s setup to run the motor.

With my 5 minute maiden of FFF, I put 1581 ma back into the batteries or 44% of the packs capacity. I also had my throttle curve at 60% for this flight. I don't have a tach to give a
head RPM.

Hope this helps.

Charlie

Hopefully one day can maiden mine. Got my fbl unit coming in the mail hopefully this week. Still need motor/esc/batts. Just can't decide on going with 6s or 8s.

I would highly recommend 8s! You can still use the Ice 100 ESC, which helps keep cost down to alleviate the battery cost, which still is not that bad. I know it can be run on 6s, but 8s will help the power setup/batteries run much cooler than 6s...just my $0.02

then it want run as free as the other one. have no idea why, both sides looks exactly the

Glad to hear it is just a minor hiccup with the build.

So, you will be using Jive for ESC and VBar as your FBL system...what will be the rest of your set-up?
