Light cloud usually halves the output of the cells, heavier overcast and you are down around 25%, almost the same i dont think... and the moon it is at best (once night a month) about 1/250th of the brightness of the sun. so your 100W panel would be producing a whole 0.4W... maybe slightly more as they are more efficient when cold (so it could be as much as 0.8W .

If Blade was smart, they'd model the mcpx after a self-winding watch. If you start losing power in the mcpx, just crack off some smack flying. But then the pros would have to be careful about over charging the poor little thing...

It really depends on the cells. We have some at work that will put out a crap-load of power, full sun or not. Polycrystaline cells can produce a lot of power on indirect exposure, although I can't give any figures as to how much. The power guy out here put one of the floppy ones underneath his truck and it was still producing about 70% capacity. There's still quite a bit of UV that gets bounced off other objects that will make the cells work even when not directly striking the panel's face.

Obviously at night it won'tbe anywhere near the amount as daylight, but they still do produce energy and solar is more about keeping it as constant as possible and over long period of time. If you're expecting to run an A/C unit off the stuff, you'll need a pretty large battery of them, and even then it still might not be enough. Just have to plan accordingly.
