Default Anybody tried Revolution Blades?

Did anybody try these blades:
http://www.revolutionhelis.com/

The 450x ones are listed as 325mm... being from HH and clearly targeted to the Blade 450X, should they not be 335mm?

325mm hole to tip.

335mm total length.

hk blades calculate full length and not hole to tip, which requires another 10mm to be the same length, thus why you should buy 335mm from hk, or 325mm for the ones calculating from the holes.

These looks interesting. First time I hear about them.

I'm a SAB fan, but wouldn't mind trying a set.

Me too I had never seen... I just found by accident a link to that website. So I searched here and found no reference...

hk you mean Hong Kong? And how do I know if they are made there? :-)

Now I also understand why HH also name their 450X blades "325mm" somewhere...

These just arrived in stock because two days ago when I was ordering some parts I was going to buy a pair and they were still listed as pre-order.

I think when most people refer to HK on this forum, they're referring to Hobby King.

I just ordered a set of the Revolution blades. I like the way they look, should have good visibility.

Don't suppose you have a precision scale do you? Would be nice to know how much they weigh compared to Radix and Edge.

I got the blades today and just flew 6 packs with them. I really like them. They remind me of the stock blades with way better visibility. With the white tips, they are just like my Compass 615mm blades, which I really like. It makes the disc so much easier to see.

Just ordered a pair based on your comments Rodney. I've been looking for blades with the pop of the stockers, but with decent visibility.

Currently flying Align 325D 3Gs and Edge 325s. I like the look of the Edge blades, but I don't think they are worth the premium in this size class over the Align blades. At half the price, the Aligns fly just as well.

I hope the Revolution blades can replicate the feel of the stockers.

Sorry Coco66, I was going to refer you to an Ebay seller that carries them, but they don't ship to Italy

That sucks.

Rodney, you have the worst luck man. At least you're having fun!

Did you figure out what caused the belt failure?

Yeah, I need to quit buying expensive blades. At least these weren't like the two sets of $80 blades for my 600 that got destroyed right after takeoff.

I haven't had a chance to dig into it. I had some weird stuff going on yesterday, though. On about my 2nd flight of the morning, when I was spooling it up, the rpm just dropped suddenly for a couple of seconds and then instantly went to 100%. I shut it off and when I checked it out, it smelled like it had let some smoke out. After that, it would still run but it wouldn't get up to 100% again. During all this, I had to set my gyro gain down to about 20% or it would just oscillate like crazy. I think I probably have something binding somewhere. I replaced the tail belt and the broken tail case but it was still doing the same thing. I'm going to tear it all down tonight. I'm also going to have to buy a new ESC because I'm pretty sure this one is toast.

Btw, I got myself a pair and they're balanced within 0.5g of each other (plus margin of error on my scale). They're right at 24g which puts them at the same weight as Edge blades.

I flew 6 packs with these new Revolution blades today. They fly really nicely. Came balanced out the box. The white tips increase the visibility quite a bit and look really good in flight. They are the same length & width as the stick blades - only slightly differently shapes near the root of the blade. I doubt they increase performance, alteast not at my average 3D skill level. They fit really well in the aluminium blade grips as well. Pics in the photo thread.
Very impressed.

i personally dont see the point in buying blades that are like £20/£30 for 1 pair when learning.

i always buy 8 pairs on ebay for £16 delivered.

Had loads of crashes some make it some dont.

once i get wicked at 3D then i might buy some EDGE blades.

You're correct if you're still crashing a good bit. I'm a little skittish of the EXI CF Blades but think the Aligns are completely fine and translate into some savings. Might want to think twice about the likes of Edge on this heli although they're nice blades and I continue to fly the flybar versions of them on my 450 3D. Like the Align blades they are about 10mm shorter than the stock blades are. I've tried both the Align and the Edge blades (still have them in my spares in fact) on my 450X and stopped flying them for the same reason. Both were balanced great and flew fine but that shorter length makes (I think at least) a noticeable difference in a decreased amount of lift they produce and I thought they made it feel kinda sluggish with the collective and pitch changes. If anything, it made the cylic a little crisper and it felt like loops and rolls were maybe a tad faster. I ran my Edge blades for 2 flights and put the stock ones back on as that decrease in lift made me nervous a couple of times. Don't get me wrong as they're completely safe, flew fine and look great on the heli. I don't think it really did anything to the actual capability of the heli; just slower climbing.

That said, my set of Revolution blades got here today and should be balanced and on the heli tonight for a couple of flights tomorrow hopefully so I can't comment on them yet but understand they are the same length as the stock blades. Hoping they are a little more visible than the solid black stock blades without that decrease in lift.
