Anyone figured a material for skid rail?

Any suggestions on a material to replace the skids! RC Fever is where I usually would get stuff but although the skids are only $5 something the shipping is like $18. I have the hobby-grade bending spring thing to make the curve but I can't figure out a good replacement material. If you examine it closely it actually looks like regular telescoping antenna stuff. It doesn't have to be chrome, it could be black or any thing that looks good.
