Yes, they are CLOSE...very close... Look at the pictures on the HH website. Also note they're both backordered. Can you show me pictures of the specific area you're talking about? I'll bet you could substitute frame sets and make them work with little difficulty. There was absolutely NO need for HH to redesign the frame set as there's nothing FBL specific about it. The servo locations/link setups were just fine. But, just frickin' great. I was hoping all the frame components would be available for the 450 3D for a long time since they were the same as the 450 X, but I guess not when they drop it soon.

A few of the previous posts are a bit confusing.. To clear things up:
B450 3D and B450X use the exact same frame. (note each as the same part number). It is opinion on how well this frame holds up in crashes. No doubt that it can break as I've broken one myself in a crash on my B450 3D. (

The B300X uses a different frame than the B450. Jury is out on how well it holds up to crashes.

My experience 4 crashes 450 3d = 1 broken frame from landing gear linkage holes breaking off frame. Couldn't glue back together.

450x 2 crashes = 1 broken frame from landing gear mounts, super glued this one back together thankfully. Yes it's the same frame. Depends on if the 300x has the same mounting of the landing gear as if it's much the same in a hard impact will very likely rip off a small frame mount.

I'm concious not to divert your 300 thread, feel free to PM if you have any questions

Well, I've sort of joined the 300X club, a UK shop had 300X airframe only for £77 (SteveBaker mentioned it earlier)
I've got all of the other components and will be using a Tarot or CopterX FBL controller
It will probably be a couple of weeks before I get it all together
It won't be the real deal, but good for keeping in the car
Thank You for the Trex 250 details as I hope to have mine behave as well as yours! I would love to get it setup and get ton's of flights out of it; definitely no plans to retire the Trex 250 and your info will help out Immensely!

I figured you were still on the fence about the 300 X, getting the 130 X instead, and I was very surprised that you got it! I hope you're up-and-flying Soon! Mine has been fine so far and a lot of that is because I'm taking it Real Easy until I can get my hands on more Lipo's and know that there's Spare Parts available.

For those that do have the BLADE 300 X, I don't know if it was intentional or not but there's just a lot of plastic frame "missing" or removed by design from the 300 X as compared to the 450 X. Honkytown has a great Thread showing this and although my 300 is still good to go, I'm scratching my head as to why the plastic around the Main Shaft area (just behind the 320H motor & below the Elevator Servo) isn't more reinforced???

For Sure, more attention to my normal maintenance will be to inspect all the screws in this area.

I know you were on the fence about the 300 X and I was very surprised that you got it! But then I saw the video of the damage and I hope you're up-and-flying Soon! Hi R3L72, let me know if you need anything re your 250
Your message reads as if I had the damage with the 300X, but it wasn't me

Looking at the weak spot on the frame, I think stevebakers brace is a good idea, could it be bigger and maybe pick up on the motor screws?
How about a tie rod type brace going from the frame fixing screw under the battery to the fixing screw near the top bearing ? It would be good to do something similar on the left side, but I guess this is complicated by the elevator servo

Yes, you're right and I did get your Post mixed up with another that has a Trex 250 as well; he did end up purchasing a 300 X and the damage is bad for the height he crashed while in an inverted hover.

I Apologize for that...I guess I'm getting old, laughs!

That's what I thought and I also got it confirmed that they were the same frame on another heli forum. Glad Mikeycts was wrong. One thing I liked about the 450 X when it finally came out was that the airframe mechanics were identical to the 450 3D from the swashplate down.

Ah, were you thinking I was comparing the 450 3D/X frames to the 300 X? If so, sorry for the confusion. I was referencing the post were someone was saying the 450 X frame broke a lot in crashes (post #57) and then I claimed it was the same frame as the 450 3D, which is known to be very durable. Then you came in saying they weren't the same.

Is the right hand frame the same as the B450? and just the left frame changed to take the servo, that could explain the weakness

I used to get sick of busting the landing gear tabs on my B400 frame so ended up using a carbon bottom plate from one of the after market carbon body sets you can (could) buy - this fixed the problem 100% - never busted another - it used to get really frustrating rebuilding the whole heli just coz of a slightly hard landing. If the B300X does the same I reckon I try and do the same sort of mod - probably have to cut my own bit of CF though unless someone releases a CF frameset for it....

I've just inspected the tabs/landing gear. I reckon a hard landing will cause the gear to flex up stressing the tabs. It would be a shame to have to replace the whole frame for a landing tab.

A carbon plate across the tops of the landing gear between the tabs will prevent the gear from flexing up and stressing the tabs.

I'll give it a go and post some photos when done.

I'm away on business this week, so may get round to it next weekend.

EDIT:
Just spotted Jamesb72's suggestion using grommets. I think I might try a combination of both.

Talking Excellent "Normal" Mode Stability

Here's a video I found of a guy just testing the BLADE 300 X in mostly "Normal" mode...this is the kind of 'Stability' that I'm not use to in my other Helis but one that I have come to really like in my 300 X.

Once I can get my hands on a good case, more Lipo's, and some on-hand Spares, I'll be Golden!

I love this video!!

I know its not 3d, etc... but love that you can tell just how stable it is and how agile/fast it could be. Sounds good too!

Good to see it fly like a lot of us will fly it (at least for the first few flights)

Agreed! This is how I'm flying this Heli but with less nose-in hovers, laughs! I still only have one Lipo (stock) and one APL 1300mAh Lipo but I'm still waiting on a balance connector from the Hobby Shop here; it's some 'EH' balance connector.

I can just say that this is one awesome Heli and handles so much better than my 450 X which I'm thinking just requires some adjustments to the pots. Even with longer blades and the AR7200BX on it, it just didn't perform like the 300 X has for me 'out-of-the-box'.

I can't wait till this Heli hits U.S. shores so that I can read about your guys impressions on it. That and more Spares and Lipo's to become available!

LOL! I can't count how many times I just wanted to buy that Heli but with all the one's that I have I couldn't justify clicking the purchase button.

Now I'm glad I did hold out as the 300 X is the perfect size for me and the perfect size for my backyard. In the coming days I'll look to have some spares on-hand, extra Lipo's, Carbon Fiber Main Blades, and some Aluminum Hop-Ups (Main Head & Blade Grips, AR Bracket, Tail Pitch Slider).

Hello there! I love this forum and especially this thread! It really boosted my confidence in my B300X pre-order here in the states...

I have gone through so many heli's.. I have 7 helis and an mQX and I just got into this hobby two months ago! So addicting. A lot of time on Phoenix sim and I think im ready for the 300X... BUT, a small part of me is leaning to jump right into the 450X... Only $100 more than the 300... HMMM
