Talking I scored big time!

Watching the euro 2012 soccer last week rubbed off.

Sustained 3D on an old soccer (football) pitch has it's drawback.

Heli all fixed and flying.

Damage:
Broken blade (only 1)
feathering shaft
main shaft
tail boom
blade grip (ripped the ball link out - now glued back in)
Skid
Main gear.
Actually broke more than I thought as fying into the net looked very gentle and arresting.

Ouch, but glad you got it fixed up again. Keep an eye on that blade grip ball, if that lets go, you could have another problem on your hands

Oh man, that really sucks but what a great picture! You should add that to the "what's your best crash" thread on the main forum.

I've been doing rolls, flips, loops, inverted, nose in etc for a while - all individual movements.

So decied to start stringing it all toghther, fips/roll/loop? Well - it isn't as easy as it looked on youtube, and wasn't as precise as I had Phoenix'd

Anyway - the original beastx is back up, and her stable mate 450 3D now assimilated into an X too. My wife refers to them as "stable heli" for the X and "crash-a-lot heli" for the 3D.

Italy could of used you on their team for Sunday's Eurocup final! You can score a goal!

All kidding aside - crashes suck - glad you are getting your bird back in the air.

Glad to finally hear from someone who obviously doesn't crash their helicopter - you sir must be a legend!

Either that or perhaps you should refrain from throwing stones in the glass house.

Nice crash/catch! Reminds me of one of my better BL mcpx crashes I had a while back..I was flying around in a parking lot with a 6' razor wire topped fence on one side, long story short I brought it out of a loop nose-in and "thought" it was on my side of the fence...the razor wire told me differently.

It was in reference to the fact the 450X is the only one thats flyable because its FBL... Im sick of hearing "450X is soooo awesome i never crash, all i do with my 4503D is crash". I crash my 4503d, just set it back up and it flies smooth as silk.

I have crashed the 450 3D more than the 450X - but was mostly due to learning. I only got the 3D late last year, never done anything with RC stuff before - so bit of a learning curve.

However, the 450x is more stable, that is a fact for my style of flying in any case. Yes I flip and roll etc the 3D, but the X is easier - but still I've crashed the X too, several times now, each time pushing the envelope. BTW I know how tune my helis, mostly thanks to this site and the youtube vids from Mike.

I try new things on the 3d first mainly because ive already seen it looking sad in parts but the x has yet to...plus 3d crash is much cheaper with 4 dollar blades...only cost me like 15 bucks to answer the burning question in my head last few wks of whether I could get inverted in my tree infested small front yard..it did make it back skids down...but with only enough time for th and watch it hit my carport...but also led to my wife feeling bad and bringing home a 130x for me when she stopped by lhs for main gears!

All in good fun. I read here months ago that if you can't laugh at and accept that crashing is inevitable, then don't fly.
I accept it. theres only so much you can beat up the wind before it hammers you back
