Weird Interaction While doing a roll

My protos on beastx is doing this weird interaction thing: When trying to do a stationary roll, I give it right cyclic to go into the roll, and instead of rolling right over, it does like a rainbow thing where it would go up a little bit, then jumps over a foot or two to its side. I'm not too new to helis, but never really paid attention to this, until now. Any ideas?

You are transitioning the collective as well right? You didn't mention anything about what your were doing with the collective so I thought I would ask.

The faster you roll, the faster you need to move that collective from positive pitch to negative pitch and vice versa in a continuous fashion.

That has happened to me also, like Alex said.. collective control.
Mine have gotten much smoother.

You guys really think it's collective control? I mean, on the sim the heli rolls right away

Agreed on the collective control, but there are other factors. Pitch, headspeed, servos etc. What is your cyclic response setting at? I recently increased mine to the increased setting and rolls are noticeably faster, and I only have to tickle negative collective to get a clean roll.

The only way the heli can go up before it rolls is if there is a collective input. If you were to completely take your fingers off the collective stick and roll/flip it over, it should drop not gain height. It will rainbow because you have some +ve collective but if it wasn't climbing before the roll then it won't climb during it. I usually give a very short collective input and back off just vefore I roll. It alllows me to zero the pitch out a little earlier and the roll comes out cleaner. Perhaps you are doing this a little bit too much without realizing.
