I’m just about done gathering all my parts for my protos build. I’ll be stretching the boom, be using stock motor (Hyperion Version) with 14tooth pinion, edge 473 blades, Infinity Alum Tail. My flying will be sport and working up to mild 3D.
For balance and flight times would should I start with a 2700 or 3300 mha TP 45C 6s pack? Here are the specs on the two packs: 2700mAh - 419gr - 44mm x 39mm x 127mm 3300mAh - 516gr - 43mm x 44mm x 136mm Thanks for any insight on this. This is the last piece of the puzzle I need to figure out (and get on order). ![]() |

The 3300 TP should be perfect.

Thanks Alex. What kind of flight times should I expect with the 3300 and sport flying?

I get 4:30 on my 2700mah tp 65c doing half assed 3d with a lot to spare. Maybe you could go for 6:00 to be safe

6 min on my 3300 mild 3D and speed passes, about 28-33% remaining on average

I'm also getting the stretched protos with scorpion 880kv and maybe 13T or 14T pinion, by this weekend.
I currently run my stock P500 on 6S, 14T, 880kv scorpion, and can maintain 2700rpm governed for the entire flight. I like the flight times (5:30-6.00) I'm getting with about 20-25% left. I have read that 3000rpm and above is overkill, and that 2700rpm is right smack in the middle of the sweet spot for the stock. Question: I'm thinking that a 13T at 2400rpm on the 6S stretched with SAB 470 blades would be the equivalent to the 2700rpm on 14T for the stock - is this correct? I'm not after high headspeeds, but I want to be in the 'sweet spot' as they say... Also, in my flight tests, it's strange but flying back to back flights, the 2200mah and 2650mah packs give me the same flight times, both down to 20-25%. I find that the weight savings in the 2200 packs just makes me use a little less collective in all moves. Question: That said, can I run 2200 packs in the stretch, as in will it CG right? If someone has done back to back comparison flights (mild 3D, goofing around, a few speed runs per flight), what's the difference in flight times between the 2200 and 3300 with the setup above? Appreciate the assistance!

I have not installed it yet but it seems very nice and solid. The one thing I'm not sure on is if there is a way to key it to the boom (90 deg) or if you just have to eyeball it.
