Yes I saw this for the FX30 ... is that the 40/41Mhz modules are sold for T12/14??
If not, it may be simply impossible ...

Unhappy TM-14 region code

Hello,

I am from Germany. I have bought my T12FG with an TM-14 Module 18 Month ago in Japan. An additional 35 MHz module I bought direct in Germany. I habe pached the 35 MHz module with '82' and it works perfect.

Some days ago i read at http://174.133.212.163/showthread.php?t=217886 the firmware patch for the T12FG to access the service menu. In this menu you can change the region code of the TRANSMITTER !!! It works with software 1.6 and 1.8.

Now I have changed the region code from Japan to Europe. The 35 MHz module still works. But my TM-14 2.4 GHz Module is now from Japan (Code) and the Transmitter is Europe (Code) and it doesn't work.

OK, I can roll back the change, but it is better to have complete EUROPE-coded devices.

Is there any possibility to change the region code at the TM-14 module from Japan to EUROPE???

Kind regards

Manfred

Default T12Z with TM-14

Hi
I have a T12Z (Korea) with 72Mhz module
Now I have bought a TM-14 2.4Ghz (USA).
When I turn on the device with TM-14, This message is displayed:
"Mismatched RF Module"

I have also made the circuit board which MZFAN advised.
Now what should I do?
I should change TM-14 area code or T12Z? which one is better and safer?
If I should change T12Z area code, Where I can find the instructions?
Thanks

Hi,

You have the answer in above post #202 - You need to enter the service menu and change region code in the transmitter (in Your case to US). The Futaba TM-14 transmitter module itself is region specific so You need a US coded TM-14 and I see You have that. None of the Futaba 2.4 GHz receivers are region coded so you can buy them anywhere in the world.

I've got a US bought 12FG with the 2.4GHz module. However, I'd like to be able to use a 35MHz module for Europe in it as well. Anyone in here with the know how and an eprom programmer willing to take the job of reprogramming an MZ-FM35 module for me for a reasonable fee?

Regards,
Thomas

Can someone please clarify the following issue:

Can the chip be reprogrammed without first desoldering it from the pcb? Two of the posters in this thread seemed to be have been using a programmer which the whole MZ-FM module was just plugged on top (willfrance and DDJ), while others stated that desoldering the chip was required. Can anyone confirm this?

I have ordered a gadget that seems to be a clip on bracket for this chip, which according to its description will allow me to program it without first having to desolder the chip.

Hi,

Are you sure? How did you do?
I know 2.x version doesn't allow downgrade to 1.x version!

Thanks!

Changing region code - this is how I did about 18 months ago, in order to use a US 2,4GHz module in my European 14Mz:

You need to find an FX40 update file on the net. You need the calibration utility which is part of the FX40 update file. Once you extract the files, the 14mzutility.exe is there. It was never meant for the 14mz but it does work if you have the 1.37 firmware on your 14mz. If you don't have it, search the net - must be out there still.

It doesn't matter if it is from robbe or FFC. They are the same.

How to proceed

1. check your 14mz ver. If newer than 1.37, downgrade to 1.37
2. put the 14mzutility on your CF card and into the radio and start the radio (it should beep like crazy btw)
3. change region to US and shutdown
4. upgrade to latest version from may 2008 (1.39) or even newest version 1.41

you're done

/Henrik

Hi from France,
I'm newbie to this forum and to the T12FG . I've got the following troubles: I use a FX30 European version , 2.1a software with a modified 72 Mhz modul. A friend of mine did the patch and it works perfectly.
I've just bought à T12FG with 2,4 Ghz modul. The transmitter is European and with 2.1a firmware. The 2,4 Ghz modul can go on the FX30 and the T12 FG without any troubles but when I try to use the 72 Mhz modul on the T12FG, I've got a MODUL MISMATCH error.
What is wrong ?
Can you help me?

Thanks à lot
JLD

Problem solve

I reprogrammed the eeprom of the module and change the bytes 3 and 9 from 00 to 01, and my FX-30 is now happily transmitting in 35 mhz using this module, I assume that internally this module is the same as the FX-FM module, and the best part is that this module from the 12FG cost half the price of the FX-FM.

Original eepron code:
02 02 00 00 C 00 xx xx 02 02 00 00 C 00 xx xx

Modified eeprom code:
82 02 00 01 0C 00 xx xx 82 02 00 01 0C 00 xx xx

Note: the xx xx are the serial number of the module I,ve changed

I managed to read a 72MHz module from my 14MZ TX and I end up with the following (see attached pictures .....) and I'm trying to see what region code is this module because I can see that 02 came up for byte 0, 1, 8 and 9, can you please tell me what region code is?
My 14MZ TX is says AMERICA as region code .....

My problem is that the 14MZ TX is set to region code AMERICA and I bought a TM-14 module from Hong Kong and the seller told me it will work if the TX is set to AMERICA but when I was plug-in the module I get a message form my TX that "Mismatch RF module" and I do not see in Frequency menu a way to change frequency.

First I want to know what region code is my 72MHz module based on the attached pictures.

Thanks and best regards to all

I have no idea what the region coding is based on the information you posted. Does your module have an FCC sticker on it? To be an American module it would need the FCC sticker. I suspect you got taken by the Hong Kong seller and the module is in fact not compatible with the USA region coded radio. I really do not see anything else you can do except contact the closest Futaba service center to see if they can help you.
