Now that the 300X is out do you think the SR will be discontinued soon? The 300X is the same size and vastly superior to the SR. Yes it is more expensive, but the 7200BX more than makes up for it, and the SR has alweys been Blade's least liked heli.
So my bet is the SR will be gone by Christmas (aside from leftovers)

For what it is, the SR is not a bad flying heli IF you have a dx6i or better and know how to set it up. But, HH marketed the SR as a good transition to CP for beginners and it certainly wasn't that! I converted mine to a belt tail and I love it. It's no 3d monster, but I like to fly it on days when I want to relax and do some circuit flying in my back yard.

Interesting point. My SR has been flying less and less since I got the 130X and the 300X. But I still experiment on the SR as it really is my test bed for making it a great flyer. I would guess that the SR is going to go away and it most likely will since the out of the box experience most have with the SR is poor in most cases that I've read vs the 300X. I guess we all need to look for the SR Christmas special this year then!

So will any of you pick the SR up when it goes into the discontinued bin?

I've flown an SR once, and that's all it took. If they kill it off I say good riddance.

I actually have 2 SR's. And love them both. Fly them everyday. Do you think if they do get discontinued they will stop making parts? I hope not

SR parts would be available for quite some time. The B400 has been discontinued for quite some time and there is still a plentiful supply of parts

How much fun would a Huey V2 be-- build it on the B300X complete with an AR7200BX. It would take some pulleys for the belt drive tail (or convert it to TT) but it would be awesome. The Huey looks cool, and it is done a tragic disservice being built on the lackluster SR.

Hopefully Eflite will offer a 300x scale version in the near future. Cheers, TomC

I bought an SR when they came out. Parts were unavailable for a few months in the beginning, and they had some issues with them as well. I hated that thing almost as much as the old original Blade CP (before the pro came out), but that's just my opinion and nothing more.

I've worked on a couple for a mate and they are IMHO really crap little helis and need to go the way of the dinosaurs. A relic from another heli age.
Feels like I'm flying a wet paper bag. Terrible tail and noisy too. The 450 3D is in another league.

Now that I got my very nice 300x I never want to fly my crappy SR or hear it's busy-bee tail motor ever again. I'm going to put it in a body bag and jump all over it, lol!
Cheers, TomC

Never had a real problem with my SR .... its my main heli to use .. real nice docile and very easy to maintain and fix.
If they are set up correctly, they fly just as well as any other heli. Its a bad craftsman who blames his tools. nbells

Right, until you get much better tools.
"Ignorance is bliss", comes to mind, just kidding, lol! Seriously, if it's your main heli and you are happy with it that's great imho. Cheers, TomC |
