Default Logitech 2100T: set up gyro rate mode in normal or idleup?

I have setup my Logictech 2100T gyro in rate mode mechanically so that there is no drift, and when I switch between rate mode and heading-hold mode it works fine. However, when I switch in to idleup, the tail has a little drift, which I can correct with a click or two of trim.

If I setup the tail for rate mode no drift in idleup, then it drifts when I switch to normal, which can also be corrected with a click or two of trim.

So my question is, for a LogicTech 2100T, do you setup the mechanical adjustment for rate mode with the heli in normal, or in idleup?

thanks,

What radio do you have.

Maybe we can get someone who has that radio and gyro to comment but I think you can assign different gyro gains to each mode (normal, idle 1, and idle 2). You probably have different gains set to each one. That could account for differences in HH for the two modes. As far as the differences from rate to HH I don't know. I leave the 401 in HH all the time and I don't set the trim for hover. But, at least, I will bump you again.

I am running a DX7 and 2100t. I too am only using HH mode in all flight modes. Set the same rate values to lock in the HH mode. Out of curiosity, do you want to be able to switch between rate and HH modes?

Nope, I also fly always in HH, but the setup as I understand it requires the heli to first be
trimmed mechanically to hold the tail with center rudder stick in rate mode, then set up
HH mode. So rate mode is required for the setup.

I do switch between normal throttle and idleup, and HH mode requires a couple of clicks of
trim to not drift in idleup.

thanks

Odd for sure. Sounds like the mechanical set-up is correct, and if that is the case there should be no drift in idle-up vs. normal. Are the rate values the same in your gyro sense screen? what rate values are you using?
