Does the Kosmik require the caps pre charing?
Jst trying to figure out if this will work with the Kosmik?
Emcotec switch. http://shop.rc-electronic.com/e-vend...11&c=764&p=764 Another bit of protection thats all.

I think Al installed one on his TDR this year... He's got a build thread, though not sure if it's included on there. Worth a look though.
Know what? Now I'm curious too. Will be digging it up... |

Pre-charging would be nice, of course. Because it is always a big current shock for a low-ESR cap.
But if, then the ESC itself it doing the pre-charging ("anti-spark"), regardless if there is an electronic switch in front.

I suppose pre-charging is preferable to "pre-charring".

If it helps, I use one of these on my Helijive and it is just fantastic. It eliminates all sparking and I like the fact that I can power on the heli at arms length. I have 100s of flights with this setup and I have not seen one downside at all.

Pretty sure the kosmik as an anti-spark built in, it switches the caps into the circuit just after power up.
The surge will only damage connectors, the caps themselves are designed to operate in that manner.

Found out it will work fine with the Kosmik.

I would be careful with it because its extra circuitry between the batteries and controller that could cause unwanted voltage ripple during flight. why would you want to use this if the Kosmik already has anti spark which is a pre charging function?
