Just did my first half piro flips with my 500 on the weekend; I'm gaining a little too much hight on the exit back to upright but felt good.

It's a Align 500e with a leopard motor, Yep wantabe speedcontrol, Align 510m servos, Futaba 401, SpringRC tail servo. The only mods to the heli is a Tarot aluminum tail box, because I couldn't get the nylon one to fit.

The fuse is a RC Aerodyne, with a hitec HS-81 servo, GT lights, and turnigy servo controller to slow the retract servo down.

Replace the skids with some gorilla gear, they won't break in a crash. I had the head come off due to a broken jesus bolt. Heard it pop and about a second later it just dropped out of it's hover as the hub and aircraft separated. It free fell 100 feet and the skids still didn't break. Found it sitting in the grass right side up on the skids like nothing happened with the head and rotor blades sitting right next to it. There were some damaged parts but without the gorilla gear it would have probably been much worse.

Good tip, that sounds impressive so I just ordered a set of orange gorilla gear skids.
