Default 450L dominator or Gaui X3...ill just have both! With video!

Would anyone in here be interested in a sisde by side or flight comparison video between these birds? I picked them both up mainly to see which one will be the superior flying machine.

That would be awesome, I was looking strongly into the x3 but parts availability on gaui stuff held me back..

It will be nice to hear.
Just for curiosity, cause i don't think i'll build another 450/480.
But who knows

Default Gaui x3 vs Trex 450 Dominator

Yes, I would be very interested in this comparison. I like the idea of Gaui but I have a Trex 550 DFC and it is a great kit. I would think that the Dominator would be a really nice kit. Personally I would like to see it offered without the electronics so one could customize it like the Gaui. Both is a great idea but not in the budget.

Default Dominator or X3

I have the Dominator finished and threw a maiden flight on it this morning. This bird has insane power, cant say I have flown anything that feels like it. I am running the Vbar and it is as smooth as butter. I will have the X3 built tonight, might be a few days before I have the electronics here for it. ill keep everyone posted and hope to have a video up here soon.

I have seen a pic of the x3 and dominator next to each other and the x3 looks bigger by a fair amount due to the canopy

I was also told the x3 had better tail authority at lower head speed but cannot confirm this as I have not flown both helis

Thank you for those side by side pics Jeff.

I wanted to see how those 2 differ in size.

Awesome! Thanks for the pics. Can't wait for the flight reports. I'm really toe between the two birds. Although from the pics and the customization options I'm thinking Gaui. What are your thoughts on kit quality and build between the two?

I have to say I was digging the 450L looks until the nose in pics. X3 is tall and sleek, very cool.

Default 450L and X3

I would say that the build quality between the two are very comparable, Even tho the Gaui was made almost entirely with plastic, excluding tail grips, swash, carbon frames, and main rotor housing. The plastic used is high strength, and the machining was great. This bird is incredibly light without electronics and I am willing to bet in the air its going to feel awesome like its bigger brothers. The align kit comes pretty blinged out. As usual the milling is fantastic, all the carbon and aluminum came without defect. I am thinking that this will crash better, it feels like a miniature tank ha. Ill take some more pictures with the canopy off and post them up. The build did take a bit longer on the X3 and thats mainly due to the fact that you have to build every little piece, in my opinion it was laid out better and the manual was spot on. The align was pretty much like any other bird that they make, the manual was ok, if you have built other align 450's in the past you will only need it on a few parts of the bird.

Would also be interested in weight comparisons, ideally with comparable electronics.

Your feeling is that the TREX will crash better?

Default crashability

Honestly I think so, It is built with stronger components but it is heavier. Wont be sure until it happens(knocks on wood)

Nice thread.
Definitely agree with the nose in picture, the X3 screams speed, the fattier 450L looks swallowed.

what headspeed and throttle curve were you running in that flight.

Looks like a powerful 450
