Default sky viper "toy" quad

I picked up one of these cheap meijer toy quads for $20 bucks, looks to be an mqx knockoff, appears to be the same size as well. Comes with a 2.4ghz system, 6 axis gyro and has a stunt function. Stock pack lasts about 9 min (500mah 1s) and a 700mah got nearly 14 min of indoor flight. I wish I could use my spectrum radio, any ideas other than a 50 dollar mqx board? For 60 I can just buy an mqx bnf but I like to tinker and this looks cooler than the blade in my eyes, the foam "parrot drone" style body is totally cool.

I'm not sure I'd be as blunt as these guys below are, but.....

+1 The NanoQX FC board was the best thing I ever done to my MQX.
The added benefit of being able to use a Spektrum or JR transmitter where you can switch between agility and safe flight modes, along with being able to add 3 different rates makes the MQX into the flying machine it should have always been.

I'd love to post pics but my tablet is being stupid. The battery I hacked up was an enerland 2s 700 mah 30c. Tonights flights got me 8min with foam body on and 11:21 with plastic body as I did more than hover. The radio has ps3 style gimbals that are half the size, and being an Xbox guy that just wouldn't do so I hacked up an old controller and rigged the joysticks into the stock tx. So far it flies pretty good although it has SLOW yaw rate. Going to see if the lhs has a board of some kind. Digging quads though, sure nice to fly inside as my 130x is too much for the small spaces in my house and I hate my msrx.
