Default Rocket tests ;) 6S Evolites and Scorpion motor

OK so I got my 6S 2500 Evolite packs and Kevin (fireup) got a new Scorpion 1400KV motor from the Ontario AMA show. So I decided to loan him a pack to try out with the new motor...

It was a FREAKIN ROCKET as you can see by the attached video. But the price was a little high. 2200+ out of my pack in this 4.5 minute flight video with the Scorpion 1400KV and 16T pinion. Later Kevin dropped to a 15T which was a little more reasonable and got a 4.5 min flight with 2000 out of the 2500 pack. I am thinking a 14T would yield better results as that is just a little too ballistic!
However with this kind of power a 6S 3300 might be a ticket...

MAN too many packs and motors to test guys so lets keep this coming!

Here is the video

http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=...e=evoscorp.wmv

Here is FIreup's mod to my video showing the Eagle Tree readings LIVE with the video! Nice job Kevin!
http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=...=evoscorp2.wmv

Kevin will post the Eagle tree recording of the 16T and the later 15T flights. I did not video the 15T flight.

That things sounds nuts!! Scary is right.

With frequent 60-80A spikes I think the EVO25's might be a better option (or 3300 Evolite if they get made). At 3000+ rpm I don't think the weight gain would be noticeable.

Thanks for the video!

Kevin likes it but I think it is going a little overboard.... Personal opinion and YES he is sucking 2500 packs dry FAST... I think there is more work to be done to find the best combo!

BUT with the power he has I think he can now run bigger packs to get the flight time up... It's ALL a trade off somewhere

I think the best setup is going to be the 1900kv scorpion motor on 5S 3300mAh and a 13T pinion. 5 Min of Hard 3D or 6 - 6.5 of average sport flying.

Yes, due to the lower Kv and better bearings in the motor.

Well according to the calcs the 15 tooth would yield 50 rpm over stock 1600kv with 13tooth so 15 is for sure target choice.

Now if I can just get Lucien to be kind enough to get me one of these 1400kv bad boyz........
