Default Problem after removing Phantom prop guards

After several months of good flying with my prop guards on, I decided to remove them so I could start transporting the Phantom in the nice case I purchased for it. So I removed the props and stored the Phantom in its case overnight. I tried to fire it up today and three of the four props are messed up, barely spinning. I could not spot a reason for this so I re-installed the prop guards, now all four are barely moving, just barely clicking along. Am I going crazy here?

after thinking about it I remembered that the screws that same with the prop guards are longer than the ones that were installed originally. I sure hope I didn't ruin my motors by screwing these longer screws up into my motors. I think I'm going to be sick.
